Crystal Kung Minkoff Caught Lying On Sutton Stracke!
Crystal Kung Minkoff claimed she was ready to “move forward” from the drama with her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star, Sutton Stracke, but did just the opposite during a Wednesday appearance on Watch What Happens Live.
The Bravo sophomore confirmed to Andy Cohen that Sutton’s “pool story” was the anecdote she didn’t want to disclose to the cast— but her confirmation came before a WWHL poll asked viewers if “Sutton’s pool story was problematic.”
Crystal asked cast mate, Garcelle Beauvais, to weigh in on the “problematic” nature of Sutton’s narrative, during a recent RHOBH episode. Garcelle, the show’s first black cast member, said that she didn’t find anything wrong with Sutton’s comment.
91% of WWHL voters agreed with her.
Sutton spoke to Crystal about her daughter inviting “multicultural friends” to a pool party, during last season’s cast getaway to Lake Tahoe, CA.
The overwhelming fan opinion seemingly caused Crystal back away from her allegation—and shift gears to a new one.
“Well, that story was not problematic,” she told Cohen, who asked, “There’s another story?”
Crystal hinted that there was yet another “problematic” story that evolved from her conversation with Sutton that she was not prepared to disclose.
“Look, Sutton and I know what was said, and we’ve spoken at length about it, and she has apologized to me privately and publicly,” she said.
The 39-year-old reality star did not offer details about Sutton’s apology.
“That conversation was a lengthy one, and I’m choosing — and I’ve chosen back then — to believe her in her apology and to move forward, and that’s who I am, and that’s what I want to do. And I believe in apologies, and that’s where I’m at,” Crystal told Cohen on Wednesday, concluding her remarks.
Fans know that Crystal, the first Asian-American cast member, claimed that Sutton made a “dark” comment during the cast trip. She was called out by her co-stars for dropping a potentially damaging accusation without providing specifics.
Sutton told Garcelle that she suspected that Crystal could be referring to a comment she made about her daughter’s friend group.
“My white child is with Black girls in there, a Chinese girl was in the Jacuzzi and I’m like, ‘This is what it should be,’” Sutton told Crystal in a previously unaired clip from the episode.
Bravo’s decision to leave the dialogue on the cutting room floor seemingly aligns with the unfazed viewer opinion expressed in Wednesday’s WWHL poll.
Sutton, 50, previously expressed regret over comparing Asian hate to being labeled a redneck. The boutique owner publicly apologized to Crystal after the episode aired.
“Despite Crystal and my strained relationship at the time, it was disrespectful to interrupt her and not listen to her express her truth,” Sutton wrote on Instagram at the time. “My life is blessed by the diversity of my relationships and I am committed to become a better listener to understand the painful realities experienced by people of color.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
