Amber Heard’s Sister Whitney Speaks Out After Johnny Depp Court Battle!

Amber Heard’s sister has come out to speak after the recent court case between her and ex-husband, Johnny Depp, was closed!

After the jury on Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s trial found her liable for defaming her ex-husband, her sister is speaking out. Whitney Heard put out a statement in support of her sister on June 5. Whitney said, “I stand with you sissy, Yesterday, today and tomorrow I will always be proud of you for standing up for yourself, for testifying both here in Virginia and in the U.K., and for being the voice of so many who can’t speak to the things that happen behind closed doors.”

Whitney went on to say she knew the cards were stacked up against her from the start but it was an honor for her to testify. “I would do it a million times over because I know what I saw and because the truth is forever on your side.” Amber’s sister went on to reassure her that she will always be there for her. “I’m so sorry that it wasn’t reflected in the decision made by this jury, but I will never give up on you, and neither will anyone who stands with you. Forever by your side.”

Whitney’s statement came a few days after Amber Heard was found accountable for defaming Johnny Depp in his $50 million lawsuit against her. Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. Judge Penney Azcarate later reduced the punitive damages to $350,000, which is the state’s statutory cap or legal limit, making his total damages $10.4 million. Amber was given $2 million in compensatory damages from her $100 million countersuit.

Amber Heard released her statement after the jury made their decision. “I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence and sway of my ex-husband,” she said. “I’m sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American—to speak freely and openly.”

In an interview with Today, Amber’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, said that social media played a huge role in her client’s loss. “They went home every night,” the lawyer said. “They have families. The families are on social media. We had a 10-day break in the middle because of the judicial conference. There’s no way they couldn’t have been influenced by it.”
