Mama June Loses Full Custody Of ‘Honey Boo Boo’ To Pumpkin!
Mama June has officially lost custody of her daughter, Alana Thompson aka Honey Boo Boo to her daughter Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird!
According to Page Six, a court gave Lauryn Efird aka Pumpkin sole custody of Honey Boo Boo. She also gets to determine visitation rights for Mama June to be able to see Alana. The court documents, which were filed on April 11, state the rules the Georgia judge set in place for Pumpkin, 22, to take care of Alana. The documents state that Mama June, 42, is required to pay Pumpkin $800 a month in child support until Alana turns 18.
The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star is currently 16 years old and Mama June is allowed to call her every day. The $800 child support was determined by the court depending on Mama June’s earnings. The docs revealed the WE tv star makes approximately $25,000 a month depending on endorsements and production. At the time of filing, Mama June’s show had not been renewed, so her only earnings that month were from disability in the amount of $1,015.
Pumpkin will have a full house as she recently gave birth to twin babies. Pumpkin shares two other children with husband, Joshua Efird — Bentley, 10 months, and Ella, who is 4 years old. According to Page Six, a source close to the family revealed that Lauryn had a boy and a girl on May 19 through a C-section. They said, “The girl weighed in at six pounds, one ounce and the boy totaled five pounds, four ounces. Mom and babies are happy and healthy and Josh is elated that the babies are finally here.”
Lauryn was first granted custody of Honey Boo Boo in August 2019 after Mama June was arrested on drug possession charges with her ex-boyfriend, Geno Doak. Despite what happened in her past, Mama June had been focusing on her recovery and now-husband, Justin Stroud. AllAboutTheTea.com reported that the couple tied the knot on March 23, at the Wilkinson County Court in Georgia, in a ceremony officiated by Judge Amanda Holder.
A few fans reacted to the custody news on Twitter and most of them were not happy with Mama June for letting this happen. One fan tweeted, “As she should. Men & herself has been a priority over her children for years.” Someday else said, “I couldn’t be happier! The mom needs some serious help and the guy she is with is bad news. That kid doesn’t need to be around that crazed cycle of drugs.”
