Teddi Mellencamp claims ‘Real Housewives’ producers brought her into the show as a friend of Lisa Vanderpump, but it was a lie!

On the May 23 episode of ‘Two T’s in a Pod,’ Teddi revealed how she ended up joining the Bravo reality show. The podcast host explained that she decided to go on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills instead of The Real Housewives of Orange County. She said, “I accidentally signed up for a show that I really didn’t want to do, and I called CAA and begged them to get me out of that contract. And they said, ‘We can probably do that for you, but would you do Housewives. And then they asked me, ‘Would you rather do [Real Housewives of Orange County] or [Real Housewives of Beverly Hills]?'”

Teddi added that she had an awkward time faking her relationship with Lisa Vanderpump. She explained how The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills producers paired them together as friends. “And so it was very awkward… Like, we’re going to tea. I had never had tea in my life. There was just… The tea, and the caviar and I’m like, ‘I was born in Indiana and grew up in South Carolina. I don’t eat caviar. I don’t drink tea.’”

At the time, Teddi was advised by her agent that Beverly Hills would be a better fit for her brand since the show is good for people’s business and the cast didn’t get into physical altercations. Teddi has homes in Beverly Hills and Orange County, so all she had to do was choose. Despite her choice, Teddi revealed on the show that she often got hate from fans.

She pointed out one time when Bravo fans came after her for her hands. “I show my hands in an Insta Story and I’m attacked,” Teddi admitted. “I talk with my hands, always, and people are like, ‘Man hands! You should be ashamed of those hands.’ And I’m like, ‘You know what, I kind of am.’” Later on in the podcast, Teddi revealed that she did deliver when it came to drama.

Teddi said, “When you’re in a setting with a bunch of people, and you have to have a show made, and you know that you have four hours and somebody needs to get this point across in those four hours, I would always do it.”
