Kyle Richards Addresses Upcoming Fight With Sister Kathy Hilton!
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 12 trailer revealed that Kyle Richards will have a falling out with her sister, Kathy Hilton, later in the season. Multiple reports claimed that Kathy was at odds with various cast members during filming season amid allegations that she hurled a slur during a cast trip to Colorado. The popular Bravo star has yet to respond to what exactly occurred, but the trailer teased that the situation upset her sister.
“I feel like you hate me,” Kyle tells Kathy during a scene that will air later in the season.
Lisa Rinna appeared to be moderating the back-and-forth between the sisters and was called out by fans for seemingly butting into private family business.
Kyle, 53, spoke to ET at NBCUniversal’s upfronts presentation in New York City, about the upcoming family turmoil.
“It’s so funny, because people haven’t seen the show or what happened yet, but they’re already casting their opinion about why they’re getting involved,” Kyle said, defending her co-star. “I mean, everybody was kind of involved with what happened in Aspen, so there’s a reason why they’re all kind of chiming in here, so you’ll just have to see the season and watch it play out. Then everyone can make their judgments.”
Kyle hinted that some of the other ladies inserted themselves into the family drama, a situation she called “frustrating.”
“It’s really frustrating, actually, especially when they don’t know any backstory,” the reality star admitted. “That’s always been the hardest thing for me, even going back to season 1, with my sister, Kim [Richards], people would make judgments and they had no idea what was going on behind the scenes, or where I was coming from.”
Longtime viewers will remember that Kyle exposed Kim’s alcoholism on camera at the end of Season 1. Kim’s storyline revolved around her struggle to stay sober until she exited the show in 2015, after Season 5.
“Your hands are kind of tied because you can’t explain [certain things] because it’s family,” Kyle explained. “Where if, it’s [drama with] one of the cast members, you’ll be like, ‘OK, well, this is actually what’s going on, what happened…’ so you’re kind of at a disadvantage in that aspect.”
Kyle added that her conflict with Kathy was “very upsetting.”
“It was very upsetting,” the Bravo veteran said of what went down with her sister. “You know, obviously I was excited about having my sister being a part of the show, I’m the one who wanted her on the show, so it was upsetting. It’s hard. It’s really hard to do reality television with family. It just is.”
Kyle spoke to E! News at the same event and hinted that Season 12 might be her last.
“I always say, ‘I don’t know,’ and each season I think, ‘Well maybe I can do one more,’” Kyle said. “And sometimes I’m just like, ‘How can I keep doing this?’ especially when I get really upset, like this last season when we ended.”
“I was like, ‘There’s absolutely no way,’” she recalled, about filming Season 12. “‘I’m done. I’m finished. I want to live my life in peace. I can’t take this.’”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
