‘RHOBH’ Fans RIP Lisa Rinna Over Cheap Birthday Dinner For Harry Hamlin’s 70th Birthday!
The most recent episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills featured Lisa Rinna hosting an uncomfortable dinner party for her husband, Harry Hamlin, in celebration of his 70th birthday. Rinna gushed over the venue and the decor when the couple arrived at the party space, which appeared to be alongside a public hotel lobby.
Fans got to meet new “Housewife,” Diana Jenkins, and watched Rinna swap barbs with Sutton Stracke, but it was the event itself that got viewers chattering on social media.
Fans took to Twitter to slam the menu, the venue, and everything in between.
Guests were seemingly served two starches, risotto and spaghetti, but no visible protein. Fans noticed the inexpensive fare and called out Rinna for skimping on the menu.
“Has anybody commented on her inexpensive dinner menu?” one viewer asked. “Two starches (risotto and spaghetti) and no protein? Very cheap. (Spaghettu Bolognese is not counted as a dinner but a side course.)”
Another laughed—“Hahah this birthday dinner for Harry Hamlin is so cheap. Rinna couldn’t even spring for a steak for her husband’s 70th.”
A fan wrote—“Can we please talk about the dinner menu at Harry Hamlin’s 70th birthday party? It was a spagetti dinner. #cheap , cheap, cheap! @lisarinna doesn’t Harry deserve a better dinner?”
Another tweeted—“This is the bottom of the Rinna bashing totem pole but I need to get it off my chest: If this is a special dinner for Harry, why did you choose to serve bolognese–something he specializes in?? He could just cook that at home…”
One viewer quipped—“Having pasta bolognese for Harry’s birthday dinner is what’s tacky, Rinna.”
Others noticed the unusual venue and the Bravo-heavy guest list.
One person wrote—“Ok is Rinna poor..could she not get a section off restaurant for the dinner. Ppl in the back ground in t shirts.”
Another tweeted—“It’s clear this 70th dinner party was for Rinna – not one of the guests were Harry’s family/friends. Of all the BH housewives, her life seems to be the most scripted.”
One fan chimed in—“There’s no question that Harry loves Rinna. He would’ve rather been anywhere else on his birthday than at that dinner. He did it for Lisa because he knew it would be the only storyline she has.”
Another added—“Now Rinna has a sense of decorum… She never flinches at an opportunity to put someone on the spot. Harry knew the purpose of his cast only birthday dinner.”
Rinna’s Twitter thrashing coincided with the reality star posting an email exchange between Harry’s publicist and a rep for Elton John’s foundation, after butting heads with Sutton over a mishap involving tickets to a 2019 charity gala.
Rinna explained during a scene filmed with Kyle Richards that Harry had texted Sutton to inform her that they had been going to the event as “guests of Elton’s” for years. She later noted that the couple “always gets” tickets, but never mentioned ever hosting a table, purchasing tickets, or even donating to the highlighted charity.
One person pointed out that Rinna never confirmed actually donating to the charity, writing—“I’d be embarrassed af if I were Lisa Rinna talking about how Elton John has invited her and Harry every year to his charity function and never once have they given a dime. Thats gross.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
