Rick Leventhal Claims Kelly Dodd Had Nothing To Do With Daughter’s Wedding Snub!
Rick Leventhal has come out to explain his relationship with daughter, Veronica, after her wedding.
When a fan on Instagram asked Rick, 64, why he wasn’t invited to his daughter’s wedding, he responded, “My issues with my eldest daughter go back years. This isn’t about Kelly.” Rick went on to explain that his relationship with his daughter needs to be repaired before anything else. He wrote, “If and when my daughter is ready to apologize and talk to me we will work on repairing our relationship. In the meantime she can live the rest of her life knowing she excluded me & my wife from her wedding. This is on my daughter, not Kelly.”
Kelly Dodd also had a few things to say about Veronica not inviting her daughter to the special event. Kelly tweeted on Monday, “Who doesn’t invite their own Dad to their wedding? Everyone knows she’s a narcissistic spoiled brat ! [My daughter] Jolie and my friends hate her. Rick’s friends hate her as well !! Always two sides to a story !”
Dodd later took to Instagram live to explain the whole situation with Veronica. She said Rick’s daughter used to be a fan of hers but things began going left after Veronica started talking bad about her. “I had nothing to do with this,” Dodd reiterated. “She went and got married and I wish her the best … Rick is terribly hurt by this and she did it out of spite and it’s just sad.”
In a statement to Page Six, Rick further explained his issues with his daughter. “My issues with my oldest daughter have been going on for many years. It’s unfortunate it’s come to this. I’m not going to detail all that’s transpired, but I will say the lines of communication were always open.”
The Rick and Kelly Show podcast host continued to say, “She chose not to call and we believe didn’t invite me and Kelly to her wedding to hurt us. She’s a grown woman and will have to live with her decision. We wish her the best.” Rick and Kelly began dating in 2019 and confirmed their engagement in November of the same year. The couple got married in October 2021.
A few fans responded to Rick’s and Dodd’s comments and said they were harsh. “I can’t imagine claiming to be an adult and talking about a stepchild this way. So sad. The secondhand embarrassment is strong for me on this one.” Another person commented, “How can anyone hate their own daughter that speaks volumes perhaps it starts w the parent.”
