Bethenny Frankel And Andy Cohen Sound Off About Jill Zarin’s Claim That Husband’s Funeral Was Used For Publicity!

Real Housewives of New York City alum, Bethenny Frankel, hashed out past drama with Jill Zarin with Andy Cohen, during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Fans know that the former Bravo duo used to be close friends during the early days of the franchise. The friendship crashed and burned during Season 3 and never bounced back, despite Jill expressing remorse over her part in the conflict.

RHONY viewers watched Bethenny reach out to Jill in January 2018, at the funeral of her beloved husband, Bobby Zarin.  Bravo cameras followed Bethenny to the event and filmed a brief exchange between the women after the service. Jill explained at the time that she welcomed the cameras because of all Bobby had meant to several current and past cast members.  Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Aviva Drescher all attended Bobby’s service.

Jill abruptly threw shade at Bethenny in 2022, stating that she felt “used” by Bethenny’s filmed appearance.

“She came with cameras [to Bobby’s funeral], which I didn’t know were going to be there, so that changed it for me,” Jill told Page Six, in April.

Jill added that she was happy to see Bethenny and did not question her motives, at the time. She expressed disappointment over Bethenny choosing to film a private meeting between the two of them, that took place after the memorial service.

“I was so happy to see her that I didn’t question the fact that she was all dressed up, and I just didn’t know,” Jill shared, adding that it wasn’t necessary to “feel” or consider whether the move was a publicity stunt.

“She came to my house to talk without cameras and I really thought that was authentic,” the former reality star said, adding “I didn’t know that after she left my house, she was filming with the girls to download them on coming to my house.”

“I did feel a bit used,” Jill said.

Bethenny and Andy discussed Bobby’s memorial service after a fan asked Bethenny to respond to—“Jill Zarin saying you showed up to Bobby’s funeral for publicity because you brought cameras.”

“I don’t own any cameras. So, I didn’t bring any cameras,” Bethenny responded, and Andy agreed.

“And I remember you and I had a discussion, and you told me that she wanted…why don’t you tell it,” Bethenny said.

“I think she invited us. I think she said, ‘If you want to cover this…If you want to include it in the show,’ by the way, which we did, because he was an important part of the show,” Andy stated.

Jill made recent headlines after Cohen announced that casting for an RHONY Legacy series was imminent. Bethenny revealed on her podcast, “Just B with Bethenny Frankel” that she was offered a role, but that the network would not likely be able to afford what she would demand. Jill shared during her April interview that she had not yet been contacted by Bravo.

“I only want to do things that are successful,” she said. “I did the [original] show, it was very successful, and it hasn’t been lately. I want to be on something that’s going to work and make sense.”

Jill will appear on Season 2 of Peacock spinoff series, Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, which will begin streaming on June 23.
