Bethenny Frankel Addresses Erika Jayne’s Disrespectful Comments About Her Dead Boyfriend Dennis Shields!
Real Housewives of New York City alum Bethenny Frankel responded to Erika Jayne’s disrespectful comments about her late boyfriend, Dennis Shields.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on May 19, Erika Jayne spoke on her husband, Tom Girardi’s ongoing legal drama. Tom Girardi is being accused of embezzling money meant for plane crash victims’ families. He is also being accused of using the money to fund Erika’s lavish lifestyle.
During the WWHL episode, Andy asked Erika if prior to Tom’s scandal being exposed if she had heard any rumors about him owing people money. Erika Jayne responded saying, “In the business that Tom was doing, which was contingent fee, it’s not unusual to borrow. So while that may be true, there were also loans that were really paid off.”
Erika Jayne also had some words for Bethenny who had said before that her late boyfriend knew about Tom owing people money. Frankel had spoken about it on her podcast, Just B with Bethenny Frankel. During the September 2021 episode, Bethenny said her late boyfriend, Dennis Shields once told her that ‘Tom owed him half a million dollars!’ The RHONYC alum added that Tom Girardi was allegedly using people’s money to financially support Erika’s lavish lifestyle.
In her response to Andy Cohen, Erika spoke about what Shields allegedly told Bethenny. “I don’t know where Bethenny’s coming from. Her guy’s dead, and my guy is in a home, so whatever. But at the same time, that’s kind of the way the business goes.” There have been rumors going around that Tom is experiencing declining mental health.
Bethenny Frankel responded to Erika’s comment on Twitter. She quoted a Watch What Happens Live’s post and told fans she wouldn’t be responding to Erika’s disrespectful comments. Frankel said, “I don’t address the comment you & Dennis’ children are hurt, offended and disgusted by. I appreciate your loyalty, heart and compassion.”
Bethenny Frankel had an on-and-off relationship with her late boyfriend, Dennis before he passed in 2018. According to reports, the 51 year old passed away from a drug overdose.
Bravo fans responded to Frankel’s comment with one saying, “I’m an Erika fan and will say that it definitely wasn’t nice. She’s better than that.” Another wrote, “Bethany you started talking about Erika first on your podcast, interviews etc sooo what did u expect??”A third person said, “Some of these comments are INSANE!!!!! I don’t care what context Erika comment was in. No one should ever make a joke about someone’s death.”
