Margaret Josephs, 55, recently gave Bravo cameras a behind-the-scenes look into her renovated home office. “It feels like a tropical paradise. You know what you can always find on my desk, great magazine, my cell phone, I’m always taking notes, I’m always on my computer taking notes,” Margaret told the cameras.  Margaret and husband, Joe, 66, bought the mansion as a project but they didn’t expect it to take so long.

Joe and Margaret had to take a $1 million dollar loan to secure the property before beginning renovations. “This is a restoration, as opposed to a renovation,” Margaret told BravoTV.com exclusively. “[Updating] a 115-year-old house isn’t like building a new house. I had a feeling it was gonna take a while. I mean, not this long.”

Josephs showed off her office wall covered in hot pink tropical print wallpaper, which Margaret claimed kept her energized for the day. The RHONJ star’s desk space has notebooks and planners; Items in her office include a mock-tail bar cart and a Peloton.“ Because we are in the midst of a renovation still, you can also find fabric swatches, little paint swatches,” she added.

Margaret was especially enthusiastic about her custom Barbie decor wreath. It hangs on a wall in her office and is made out of tinsel, sparkles, blonde Barbie dolls, and Christmas orbs. The wreath includes strings of pearls and custom beaded letters that spell out words and names such as “queen,” “Joe,” and “Marg.” She also added that it was a “real piece of art.”

Margaret’s house renovations also include a renovation of her 1965 kitchen. She completely removed the three-floor chimney from her home and added a tile floor with a massive white and gold marble kitchen island. In February, Margaret said the house would eventually look like a rock and roll hotel.

“It transports you to a different time and place,” she said. “It’s high Hollywood vintage glamour.” When asked about her favorite room in the New Jersey home, she said, “I think the bar area is so great,” adding, “I’d lay on the sofa all day and watch TV.” In fact, much of the room was designed around that piece in particular: “I picked up elements off of the sofa and tied it back to the rest of the room.”
