‘1000-lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton Exceeds Weight Loss Goal & Is Getting Bariatric Surgery!
Tammy Slaton, 35, went into rehab after hitting rock bottom and gaining back the weight she lost. Fans who have been keeping up with the reality star knew that Tammy wouldn’t be out of the facility until August. However, a source close to Tammy revealed she is getting bariatric surgery next month in Atlanta.
Fans of the TLC star noticed that she has been missing from social media for a while now. Some people speculated that Tammy was hiding from trolls while working on her weight. Tammy kept posting a few videos on her TikTok that gave fans an update on her journey. However, the 1000-lb Sisters star doesn’t look like she lost any weight.
To be approved for weight loss surgery, Tammy had to be below 400 lbs. When she entered the rehab facility, she weighed around 639 pounds. This means Tammy must have really worked on herself during her time there. The Slaton sister is scheduled to have her bariatric surgery as early as June. She will also get surgery on her knee because she has been heavy for so long that it brought a lot of problems with her bone and joint health.
There has been no word yet from TLC about Tammy Slaton on the fourth season of 1000-lb Sisters. One of Tammy’s friends suggested to The Sun that she might even get her own TLC show. They said, “She hates her trach, although it’s gotten smaller. She only has to wear it part-time now.” Tammy’s friend also added that she is ready to move back to Ohio and get back into reality television.
The source said Tammy is interested in signing a book deal to tell her side of the story. The TV star also wants to raise awareness on body positivity through her own journey. Her sister, on the other hand, is not interested in her sister’s new plans; Instead she wants to focus on her growing family. Amy Slaton told The Sun that she was planning to quit the show if TLC producers didn’t cut down her filming hours.
Most TLC viewers are happy to hear that Tammy Slaton has actually reached her weight loss goal and is getting healthier. One fan wrote on Twitter, “Oh Tammy I’m praying for you and love ya keep up the good work you’re an inspiration to lots of people.”
