Teresa Giudice Made Up Fake Cheating Rumor About Jackie To Save Her ‘RHONJ’ Job!

Teresa Giudice got the Real Housewives of New Jersey drama party started early — but the alleged reason behind the maneuver might surprise viewers.

According to a new report by Page Six, Teresa cooked up a cheating rumor about her co-star, Jackie Goldschneider’s husband, Evan, because she was petrified of being axed from the Bravo show.

Fans know that Teresa, 48, kicked off Season 11 by spreading a rumor that Evan was stepping out of his marriage. She claimed that she couldn’t remember where she had “heard” the damaging story, but sources told the outlet that Teresa created the rumor to spark drama.

“She’s being watched by the network and needed a story to stir the pot. She had zero proof [that he cheated] and made up the story because Bravo has been getting rid of original ‘Housewives,’” a source said, adding that Teresa is afraid that she might face the same fate. “[She’s] too expensive and they can filter through different women She’s desperately trying to stay relevant.”

Teresa Giudice has been a RHONJ cast member since the show’s first season, in 2009.

Teresa’s lawyer, James J. Leonard, spoke to the outlet about the insider chatter.

“The core principle of reality television is authenticity, and I don’t believe there has ever been a more authentic ‘Housewife’ than Teresa Giudice, and there never will be. She is without peer in what she and her family have shared with the cameras over the years. When you are as real and authentic as Teresa has been, you don’t need to pull stunts or manufacture story to be relevant and that is ridiculous for anyone to suggest otherwise.”

The reality star dished during Evan’s birthday party, featured on the first episode, that Jackie’s husband allegedly “screws around” with random women at his gym. She couldn’t pinpoint exactly who told her the tawdry tale.

Jackie confronted Teresa over the “baseless rumor” and recently spoke to Page Six about the surprise drama. She said that “there wasn’t even a question about whether he cheated on me… The only reason I was upset was because of her trying to spread a rumor — not because I ever questioned my husband.”

An insider weighed in on Teresa’s chances of landing on Bravo’s chopping block.

Teresa is the highest paid ‘Housewife.’ If they get rid of her, it’s because they pay her too much and her act is no longer worth it, but she’s been a franchise favorite forever,” the snitch dished.

Fans know that Jackie begged Teresa to take back her flimsy accusation, and compared the situation to repeating a rumor that her daughter, Gia, 20, does cocaine in party house bathrooms. She clarified why she said what she did in a statement to Us Weekly.

Gia Giudice

“I wasn’t starting a rumor about Gia. I was giving an analogy,” Jackie said.  “I think that like almost everyone will say that that’s an analogy and the truth is that there’s no one else in Teresa’s life that I can make her understand. When you say something about someone you love, whether or not it’s true, it hurts, you know? So, I don’t regret that because if I was saying something nasty about Gia, then I would regret it. But I was giving an analogy, which it was pretty clear to almost everyone.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm, ET, on Bravo.
