A source told the outlet that the couple, who wed in 2014, has “completely” stopped going to marriage counseling. Another source confirmed earlier this month that the couple had sought therapy in order to save their marriage.
“He is talking to divorce lawyers this week,” the insider said about the rapper.
Multiple sources previously confirmed to the outlet that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians personality planned to file for divorce from the musician, and had hired high profile attorney, Laura Wasser.
“They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family,” one insider said. “And Kim is okay with it.”
Kim and Kanye share four children, daughters, North, 7, and Chicago, 3, and sons, Saint, 5, and Psalm, who turns 2 in May. Kim is reportedly determined to keep her focus on her children, her ongoing pursuit of a law degree, and her commitment to the fight for criminal justice reform.
“Kim knows what she wants to do with her life,” said the insider. “She wants to keep living in L.A., create the best life for the kids and focus on her work passions.”
Sources say that Kim doesn’t believe that her future aligns with her husband’s, after seven years of marriage. Fans know that Kanye suffered a bipolar episode last summer amid a presidential run, and has sounded off in controversial Twitter rants.
“Kim has become more independent and has lost patience with his antics, rants, the presidential campaign and tweets,” a source explained.
“The love story between Kim and Kanye has been over for a long time. They adored each other but have too many differences.”
As reported earlier this month—Kim is expected to pursue full custody of the couple’s four children, amid the bombshell divorce that’s expected to turn nasty.
A source told Sun that while the split appears “amiable” on the surface, things are expected to “get ugly” as the couple battles it out for custody.
“Neither of them want to seem like the loser in this divorce and they both will fight hard for their kids,” the insider said.
“Kim has made it clear she wants full custody so if Kanye tries to fight her on that, the custody battle will be brutal,” the tipster added.
The snitch added that the reality star won’t “back down” when it comes to fighting for her four children. The children have been living in Los Angeles with Kim, while Kanye stays at his Wyoming ranch.
“They know they cannot control Kanye, especially when he struggles with his bipolar disorder,” the source said.
“So there is no telling what he’s going to say publicly, last summer was an indicator of that,” the insider noted about the musician’s bipolar disorder related breakdown.
“Kris cannot fully control this situation like she typically can with public scandals and she knows that.”
“And Kim cannot fully rely on her mom to make it go away because there’s no way to know exactly what Kanye will do,” the tipster added.
“He knows so much about the family, things they would never want exposed. They are nervous what he will do with this information,” the source explained.
