The mom-of-three thanked her fans for their love and support but admitted that boundaries were crossed during the season, which played a part in her decision to leave the Bravo series.

“It’s not easy doing reality TV, and to be quite honest, I’m over it. I appreciate everything that people have done for me, everybody that’s been Team Monique — I love y’all, I thank y’all — but when you cross certain lines there’s no going back,” Monique told her followers.

Fans know that the rumor alleging that Monique had stepped out of her marriage with her trainer, and her physical altercation with co-star, Candiace Dillard, were the two hardest “lines” to uncross.

Monique addressed the drama during Sunday’s final installment of the reunion series, claiming that Candiace’s finger in face gesture triggered unpleasant memories linked to her father, who used the same motion to “check” her. She also apologized to her castmate for her behavior.

“I take full responsibility for my part and my actions in the altercation,” Monique said. “That fight wasn’t about you. Nothing that you said or did in that moment warranted the response that you received. I offer you my apologies. I’m sorry for the pain that you are still going through and the fact you still haven’t healed from it. I hope you are able to heal and move forward.”

Candiace accepted Monique’s apology, but pointed out that Monique appeared to brag about the incident in her recently released single “Drag Queens.” Monique denied the speculation.

Bravo host, Andy Cohen, sided with Candiace asking—“What part of you thinks that it will be received well by her?”

Monique argued that the song was an outlet to discuss different things, and Cohen responded by shading Monique’s subpar singing career. Fans reacted, blasting the Watch What Happens Live host for dissing Monique.

“Don’ blame her and Andy behavior is proving NeNe right,” one fan wrote.

“Honestly. I don’t blame her. The way Andy treated her at the reunion was TRASH,” another noted.

“Feel like she would have returned if trashy Andy didn’t treat her and Chris the way he did. He was incredibly biased,” a follower said.

Andy was picking sides so bad! The show is going to be so lame without her!” another agreed.

One Instagram user claimed that the backlash caused Cohen to silence his comment section.

Andy Cohen must be guilty cause he turned his comments off. I can’t stand him,” the IG user said.

NeNe Leakes

Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, NeNe Leakes, has alleged similar mistreatment at the hands of Bravo and Cohen.

As reported—the reality TV veteran called for a Bravo boycott on December 21—and took to social media to share her message.

“Y’all ready to start this boycott yet? What has happened behind the scenes is WRONG!” NeNe tweeted on Monday, December 21. “While others were being promoted, BLACK WOMEN who created shows, created genres, built franchise and built networks were being DEMOTED … TURN OFF YOUR TV’S.”

NeNe later discussed her public plea with civil rights lawyer, Ben Crump, during an IG Live session.

“When you work at any company, you want elevation. You know? It’s about leveling up,” NeNe said. “Whether I was an actress or an executive, everyone wants to level up in their opportunities on their jobs. As an original housewife, a lot of these girls were being elevated. I was being demoted. And the way I was being demoted is I was getting less and less episodes, and these girls were getting more and more episodes. I was given less.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac is on hiatus.
