On Friday, Jax Taylor took to Instagram to announce his departure, without mention of being fired.

“The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life,” Jax began in the lengthy caption. He continued:

“Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules. We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors. @bravotv, @evolutionusa and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts. Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you. Stay tuned, We can’t wait for to share what we have planned. Have a great weekend. ?”

In Jax‘s comment section, he elaborated to a fan his reason for leaving the show, implying that he wasn’t axed. “I am 41 with a baby on the way… was the best choice for my whole family.”

Jax‘s wife, Brittany Cartwright, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child, posted her own, similar farewell to her fans on Instagram.

“The last 5 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life,” Brittany wrote. She continued:

“Although this is difficult to share, Jax and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules. We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors. @bravotv, @evolutionusa and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts. Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you. Stay tuned ❤️”

Bravo confirmed the news as well.

The couple’s departure comes six months after VPR producers fired Stassi ShroederKristen Doute, and newbies Brett Caprioni, and Max Boyens for racist actions in the past.

Although Jax insinuates he wasn’t fired but left the show for his family, rumor has it that the OG’s firing is in connection with the firings of Stassi and Kristen for reported racist actions against ex-friend of the show, Faith Stowers. The mean girl duo reported Faith to the police for a crime she didn’t commit. Jax played a part in the incident when he tweeted about it. Fans immediately called for Jax to get fired, but it never happened. Until now.

A few members of the VPR cast took to social media to show their love and support to their friends and now-ex-castmates.

“I AM SO HAPPY I LOVE YOU GUYS.” – Kristen

Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, who are collectively at odds with both Jax and Brittany, shared their thoughts on the couple’s exit.

In an interview with ‘Hollywood Life,’ a surprised Tom said that he and Ariana had “no idea” that Jax and Brittany were going to make such a huge announcement.

“I was like, ‘Oh, [Jax and Brittany are] going live,’ saw it, and that’s it,” Ariana said. “So we’re here. We don’t know. We have no inside. We’re out of the loop…but yeah, crazy.”

The fate of Vanderpump Rules is still up in the air. As we’ve reported, Lisa doesn’t know when the show will be renewed for a ninth season. However, the boss lady is pretty confident that she and her gang will be back on our screens at some point.Â

“We don’t know when it’s going to be picked up because we haven’t opened the restaurants yet and everybody’s in masks,” Lisa said in an October episode of her podcast, ‘All Things Vanderpump.’ “But we always have new people working at the restaurant… We always try and add people.”

Vanderpump Rules is on hiatus.
