The coronavirus spread is still on the rise, and though there are two successful vaccines in the works, thousands of people are still dying every day and hundreds of thousands are still contracting the virus. R&B singer Jeremih is in the latter’s number.
Over the weekend, news circulated that Jeremih was in a hospital’s ICU, fighting for his life, battling COVID-19. Producer and Love & Hip Hop alum, Hitmaka (better known as rapper Yung Berg) asked fans to pray for Jeremih. “I need everyone to pray for my brother @jeremih this message is posted with his mothers blessings❤️,” he wrote. Soon after, rappers 50 Cent and Chance The Rapper took to social media, asking fans for the same.
“pray for my boy @jeremih he’s not doing good this covid shit is real 🙏🏿 he’s in ICU in Chicago,” 50 captioned a photo of him and Jeremih on Instagram. Chance The Rapper tweeted, “Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih, he is like a brother to me and he’s ill right now. I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him.”
News traveled fast and tributes to the singer began flooding social media timelines. A day or so later, TMZ reported that Jeremih was put a breathing ventilator after his situation had gotten worse.
On Monday (Nov. 16), one of Jeremih‘s crew members called into The Kenny Burns show to give an update on the singer’s condition while asking fan to send prayers.
“He is still ill; He is still in the hospital—it’s complications with COVID,” Adam Smith told Kenny Burns. “And he’s not out of the dark, yet.” Adam did give good news that the singer is now in stable condition. “He’s stable but he still has a way to go,” he said.
Adam also revealed that Chance The Rapper, Diddy, and former Love & Hip Hop star, Mally Mal, have been helping by offering their resources of the “best of the best” doctors “working on” Jeremih.
