The Real Housewives of Dallas fan favorite, LeeAnne Locken, has announced she’s quitting the Bravo reality series.

“After much consideration, I have made the personal decision to step away from RHOD. Getting to share my wedding with the viewers last year brought me tremendous joy however, the season was very personally challenging for me.” LeeAnne Locken said in a statement to PEOPLE.

As fans know, LeeAnne Locken was branded a villain in season 4 after her costars labeled her a racist after she called new cast member, Kary Brittingham, “a little chirpy Mexican.” Kary Brittingham was the first Mexican cast member on the show.

LeeAnne Locken apologized many times on the finale, “It was a mistake. I was ignorant. I have educated myself. And moving forward, I know that this is wrong,” she said on TV.

“I am looking forward to stepping away from the cameras and spending quality time with my husband and friends, traveling but most importantly getting back to philanthropy, which was my main reason for joining the show,” Locken’s statement reads.

LeeAnne Locken plans to focus her free time on philanthropy — as she’s heavily involved in local Dallas charities.
