Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives opens with Kody Brown and his polygamous buddy, Kyle Henderson, visiting Coyote Pass.  The guys discuss Kody’s one-house plan and he’s finally considering his wive’s perspective and pondering building separate homes to please Christine Brown and Robyn Brown

Christine Brown, Robyn Brown, Meri Brown and Janelle Brown join Kody and Kyle at Coyote Pass. Kody lays out plans for four houses on the property and Meri, Christine and Robyn are relieved. The ladies discuss how they want their homes designed, then they have a sisterly bonding moment and make angels in the snow.

As Kody Brown watches from the sidelines — he’s not impressed — their bonding triggers memories of them shooting down his one-house plan. Kody thinks it was a conspiracy. In a talking head confessional, Kody admits that he’s no longer happy being in a plural marriage.

“When I was younger, it used to be a lot of pleasure to me when I’d see my wives goofing off and playing and having fun together. I’m jaded, I guess,” Kody, 51, reveals in the Sunday, February 23, episode.

He continues, “I just don’t see plural marriage in the same light that I used to. I’m struggling with plural marriage and I’m struggling with my wives and I’m struggling with their conflict. We’re at a stage in our lives now where were far apart and we’re struggling with getting along.”

As fans know, Kody Brown and his four wives are divided on Kody’s plan to move his entire family under one roof and he feels some wives are sticking together out of loyalty.

“We did an entire discussion about one home and I think there’s a tendency, especially with my presentation of this one house idea, where there’s sort of a loyalty bond that they get with each there,” he explains in the episode. “It’s me or them. [For example,] ‘Well, my sister wife doesn’t like this one house idea, so I’m gonna side with her instead of my husband.’”aking snow angels together and says that he’s “cynical” — even though he knows he probably shouldn’t feel that way, especially since together they share 18 children.

In North Carolina, we catch up with Maddie and Caleb Brush. Grandma Janelle Brown is visiting to babysit baby Axel, while mom and dad find out the sex of their pending baby. They’re excited to learn that Maddie is having a girl! Janelle is eager to learn the sex before everyone else but Maddie and Caleb keep her in a little suspense before telling her they’re having a girl.

Janelle’s overjoyed and comments that grandpa Kody will love the little girl and protective. Maddie informs her mom that this time around, she plans to give birth at a birthing center after a grueling home birth of her son, Axel.

Back in Arizona, Janelle’s new rental looks like a tornado went through it with boxes everywhere. Kody and his wives have gathered at Janelle’s to discuss Maddie’s gender reveal party. Janelle shares that she knows the birth, and Kody’s feelings are hurt. He feels wives shouldn’t keep secrets from their husbands. The ladies try guessing the sex while Janelle excuses herself so she doesn’t spill the beans just by the expression on her face.

The convo shifts to the sale of their Vegas homes. Robyn’s old house has sold, while Janelle’s house is under contract. Then Kody delivers some bad news. The owners of Robyn’s Flagstaff house wants her out because they plan to sell the property. This is bad for the family because Robyn’s rental is a huge gathering place for the whole family.

Meri steps up and offers her rental as a substitute gathering place for the family but no one is jumping at the idea and pretty much ignore her. Kody suggests buying a doublewide trailer and park it at Coyote Pass but the wives shoot down his brilliant idea.

Once again, Kody Brown is defeated and feeling discouraged — he says he’s losing faith.

Sister Wives airs Sunday nights, on TLC, at 10pm ET.
