RECAP: 90 Day Fiance Fernanda and Jonathan Fight At the Club!
Things got messy last night on 90 Day Fiance — in every sense of the word!
Colt Johnson and Larissa Christina Dos Santos Lima
Larissa is entrenched in American boredom, so she decides to drag Deb out to buy a sofa. Larissa complains that the house is messy, bare and unappealing. She’s ready to make some changes, and will do anything that doesn’t involve cleaning the place herself. The duo checks out a furniture store, and immediately disagrees about which discount sofa to buy. Larissa reminds us that Colt agreed to provide a dream couch, and she’s ready to assert her independence with Colt’s wallet. Deb reveals that all financial decisions must be run past her baby boy, before she coughs up their joint cash.
Larissa wants to surprise her groom, but Deb says um no. Larissa is annoyed, and believes that Colt should cut the financial umbilical cord already. Colt later sides with Deb on the great couch debate, so Larissa agrees, through eye rolls, to behave. The couple later visits Colt’s cousin, John, who pushes them to share the cringeworthy ways they express love. Larissa sighs that Colt wants to boink like bunnies, giving a nod to his needy side. John responds by rudely firing questions, trying to uncover a green card motive.
Steven Frend and Olga Koshimbetova
Olga is in labor, and must deliver her baby in a rundown Russian hospital that won’t allow fathers anywhere near the delivery. Olga and Steven are both scared, and Steven isn’t mature enough to fake bravery for Olga’s sake. Steven is panicked, so he begs his baby mama to clamp her legs together until he can pull strings and storm her hospital room.
The doctor is MIA and the situation is grungy and bleak. Eric’s blood begins to boil, but after a six hour wait, he’s finally allowed in the delivery room. Olga’s son has a watermelon head, so the doc determines that she’s c-section bound.
Eric Rosenbrook and Leida Margaretha
Leida’s parents have arrived from Indonesia, and Eric is excited to show them the sights. The family floods into Eric’s humble Pennsylvania rental, an obvious step down in the luxury department. Leida’s dad notes that the house is small, and is concerned about his daughter’s future in America. Eric finally drives them all to his home state of Wisconsin. Eric has rented a place for his new family, hoping the maneuver will keep them from catching a glimpse of his own dump.
Eric’s clan welcomes them all to the U.S. — including his ex-wife, Tania. The initial greetings are awkward, and the conversation is forced. Leida takes issue with Eric’s daughters not making an appearance, because this occasion should come before all work schedules. Eric brings Leida to his own apartment, and the house is a wreck. Eric’s daughter left the place a mess, and the filth really kills the newlywed vibe.
Eric turns on the charm with a twin bed offering, and Leida finally breaks down, shocked into slummy reality. Leida wants to go home — and who could blame her?
Ashley Martson and Conroy “Jay” Smith
Ashley and Jay are having a ball playing house, but Jay is a bit concerned about all the upcoming togetherness. Ashley surprises Jay with a welcome party, and hopes that some friendships stick. Jay appreciates the effort, and is happy to make friends. Ashley’s critical bestie, Natalie, confronts Jay about his cheating past, and admits that she’s worried about her pal. Jay plays dumb, but hints that he’s guilty. Jay won’t commit to staying faithful, and Natalie is frustrated by Ashley’s naiveté.
Jay later fills in Ashley about the convo, and they both wish that Natalie would butt out of their romance. Jay may have cheated — but Ashley wants to trust him anyway. Ashley and her bridesmaids — a group which now does not include Natalie — check out their dresses at a bridal salon. Ashley fills in the others about booting the rogue naysayer, who is labeled jealous. Natalie is officially out.
Jonathan Rivera and Fernanda Flores
Fernanda is bored in North Carolina, and Jonathan is worried that she might emotionally crack before he can drag her down the aisle. Jonathan is going to mix it up with a trip to Myrtle Beach, and he hopes that the ocean breeze will cheer her up. Fernanda is happy, and admits that it’s easier to love Jonathan in the sand. Jonathan pushes wedding plans, but Fernanda wants to meet his family, who lives in Chicago, first.
Fernanda suspects that they aren’t thrilled with the situation, and Jonathan agrees to connect Fernanda with his parents before they plan the big day. Jonathan sets the stage when he reveals that his mother learned of the engagement on social media. The couple later hits a club, and although Fernanda can’t drink, Jonathan gets sloshed. He puts his hands on a dance floor tramp, and Fernanda goes crazy, swiping her claws, and melting down in a parking lot tantrum.
Jon explains that Fernanda has a history of bar brawls, noting his own habit of checking out other women on dance floors.
Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa
Kalani and Asuelu are busy playing parents to Oliver, and we soon hear that cash flow issues are forcing the couple to relocate to a family home in Utah. Kalani is sad to leave her sister, and hopes that she and Asuelu can make peace. Kalani prepares a farewell dinner to share with Lini, hoping to smooth things over before they leave the state. They group sits down to hash it out, and Lini asks for reassurance from Asuelu that he did not cheat on her sister. Asuelu admits that he messed around with other girls during their uncommitted time apart, but soon becomes emotional, and appears sincere in his wish to win over his new family. Lini has her eyes wide open, but cuts Oliver’s dad a break.
The drama continues next week — as the 90 Day Fiance couples inch a little closer to their matrimonial finish lines.
