Carole Radziwill Reacts to Luann de Lesseps’ ‘Blackface’ Getting Megyn Kelly Fired!

Former Real Housewives of New York star, Carole Radziwill, is speaking out on NBC’s decision to fire Megyn Kelly, after she weighed in on her RHONY co-star, Luann de Lesseps’ Diana Ross Halloween 2017 costume.

Kelly defended Luann’s choice to darken her skin tone to reflect the music legend on Megyn Kelly TODAY, while wondering how wearing blackface could be considered “racist.”

Luann’s former cast mate sounded off about the controversy late last week, reiterating her own disapproval of Luann’s costume. She explained why she believes that a difference exists in how NBC/Universal handled both controversies.

“Wait @MegynTODAY saw #rhony and she still couldn’t see its offensive..?? Luann blackened her face & put on an afro. Megyn defends that? She is absurd,” Carole tweeted on Thursday.

Carole snapped back when a viewer took issue with her opinion, shooting down the notion that “no one” was offended by Luann’s look.

Another follower accused Carole of remaining silent during the filmed party sequence — prompting the ex reality star to clarify what was going on behind the scenes.

Carole Radziwill cosigned NBC’s decision to let Kelly go — but added that the public should note the difference between a reality star and a news anchor.

Luann responded to the ruckus during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, shortly after the episode aired.

“I never meant to hurt anybody’s feelings. I love Diana Ross and I totally respect Diana Ross,” Luann said. “It was really kind of a tribute to her, and it was Halloween.”

“I had bronzer on that I wear normally like the rest of my skin,” she added.  “I’m tan, like right now. So I didn’t add anything to or would ever, ever dream of doing a blackface. Ever. I’m very sorry to everyone out there if I offended anyone.”

Carole Radziwill disputed Luann’s makeup description — claiming inside knowledge of how Luann pulled off her extreme look.

The Real Housewives of New York is on hiatus.
