RECAP: Karine Suffers A Miscarriage On ’90 Day Fiance Before the 90 Days’
90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days Recap!
Sunday night’s 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days stories jumped between joy and heartbreak, in the most emotional episode of the season.
Rachel Bear and Jon Walters
Rachel Bear has been back in the states for a few months, but is now prepping to jet back to the U.K. to marry Jon Walters. She’s anxious about the trip, because she recently uncovered some teaser issue about her once troubled groom. Jon manages to drag himself to the airport this time, and the couple is overjoyed to be reunited. They drive to a rented cottage, close to the spot where the wedding will take place. Jon has arranged for Rachel to have a preview meet-and-greet with her own wedding guests, one of which is an ex-girlfriend. Jon randomly bumped into his ex, and likely thought she might enjoy a filmed TV wedding party.
Rachel is less than thrilled. They arrive at the charming cottage, and Rachel finally confronts Jon, explaining that she witnessed an ongoing convo between him and his ex on Facebook. The ex girlfriend is the invited guest, and Rachel is upset that Jon is reminiscing lovie dovies with another woman. Jon explains that he regrets how he treated his ex, including tossing the word “love” her way.
Tarik Myers and Hazel
Tarik Myers is over the moon, because Hazel finally choked out a lukewarm “I love you,” which evidently makes her worthy to meet his five year old daughter. Tarik reveals that Hazel is a big fat secret to his ex, Rose, because an exposed romp on Filipino Cupid might muck up a never ending custody battle. Hazel wonders if Tarik is mature enough to deliver a good American life, and notes that the clock is ticking. They later enjoy a romantic beachside table for two, where they swap war stories about their intensely interested siblings. Hazel’s sis wants her to marry a Japanese guy, to follow in her footsteps.
Tarik is bothered by the news, and wonders if a marriage can actually be built on a reluctant two-week nuzzle. Tarik unleashes a strange rap ballad to win her over, and Hazel tries not to cringe through her approval. Tarik drops to one knee, and pops the question. Hazel looks puzzled by the whole idea, but reluctantly says yes. Tarik declares Hazel the love of his life — he thinks.
Darcey Silva and Jesse Meester
Darcey Silva and Jesse Meester are meeting in an extra calm NYC park, so Jesse can publicly let Darcey down easy. Jesse has made a deep dark discovery that is proving to be the latest relationship dealbreaker. He’s selling that an in-person breakup will allow for more considerate humiliation — and TLC surely agrees. Darcey smells a rat, and knows that the romance is likely on the rocks. Darcey is decked out in a push-up bustier, clearly hoping to va-va-va-vaoom Jesse into a future. The vibe is like a slow horror movie, and things only get worse when the pair climbs into an innocent Uber. Jesse slams her with knowledge of an explosive sister catfight — one that ended in Darcey’s arrest. Darcey admits the squabble, but does not believe she owes Jesse an explanation. They argue over who would jump out of the moving vehicle first, before Jesse blasts her as a drunk. Darcey screeches “LIAR” before the Uber whisks Jesse away, hopefully forever.
Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi
Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi are enjoying a local field trip, climbing rocks and contemplating their future. Michael asks Angela where she stands on the whole happily-ever-after in America deal, nudging her to make all of his Trumpian dreams come true. Angela isn’t sure, but knows that she needs to make up her mind already. Michael continues his hard sell, and Angela informs him that life in rural Georgia is a major snooze.
Michael is worried about relating to her family, and Angela is worried about making a mistake. Michael begs her to give in, so she whips a ring, wrapped in flagged congrats, out of her cleavage. Michael is officially IN — and he’s thrilled. Michael returns the favor, delivering the first double proposal in 90 Day history.
Paul Staehle and Karine Martins
Karine Martins has a bun in the oven, but still wants to dump Paul Staehle. Karine doesn’t want the baby to be born into a battle, but Paul assures her that he will cool his jets and share his groceries. Paul suggests a vague compromise, so Karine reluctantly agrees to give him another shot. We catch up with the couple later, en route to the hospital. An ultrasound turned up some fetal abnormalities, and they soon learn that the baby has died. It’s truly sad, and Paul is frustrated by the language barrier. A producer steps in to help Paul understand that the miscarriage was likely due to genetic deformities. The couple is shocked. Karine is admitted to the hospital, and the whole ordeal is heartbreaking.
Ricardo “Ricky” Reyes and Ximena
Ricardo “Ricky” Reyes is set to leave Colombia the next day, and is bummed that Ximena is still giving him the cold shoulder. Ricky apologizes again for being a shady louse, but Ximena reminds him that he will have to earn back her trust. Ximena seizes an opportunity during a quiet waterside moment, ordering him to go jump in a lake — literally. Unfortunately, Ricky can’t swim, but Ximena doesn’t care. He takes the plunge and survives, because the TLC crew is on hand to haul him back onto the dock. Ricky passes the devotion test, and Ximena is tickled by his blind obedience. Ricky later takes Ximena on a romantic private float, where Ximena reminds him that she still feels pain from his betrayal. Ricky proposes on bended knee, and Ximena accepts. The couple is excited and happy.
Marta and Daya
TLC’s stupidest shot in the dark continues tonight — a pole dancing Catholic swimming in a sea of red tape, to be by the side of a hot Muslim Algerian. Daya hasn’t formally invited Marta to his country, and the red flags are a-waving. Marta later commiserates with a friend about the ongoing situation, while peddling away her sorrows like a lovelorn sloth. This story is a tough TLC sell.
Next week on 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days — Angela’s bank account hits some bumps, and Darcey and Jesse face off. AGAIN.
