Dina Manzo Hasn’t Spoken to Sister Caroline Manzo In 2 Years! #RHONJ
Time has not healed the rift between Real Housewives of New Jersey sisters, Dina Manzo and Caroline Manzo.
In a recent interview, Dina revealed that she has not spoken to her big sis for two years, and that fame played a part in their broken relationship.
“People become [caricatures] of themselves. A little part of what people say that they liked, they tend to put it on,” Dina told People.
Dina delivered an update on the family split during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. Dina told the Flipping Out star that while she believed that “we all changed” after the show took off, she saw the biggest shift in Caroline.
“It was when I didn’t recognize who she was any more that I said, ‘I’m out,’” Dina said, about the Manzo’d With Children alum.
“And then the television thing [factored in] after I watched Season 1. I was saying very nice things about them and watching back, they weren’t doing the same for me,” Dina added. “So I was like, ‘What the f—?’ Is there envy going on here? They don’t want me to look good?’ I don’t know, but it freaked me out.”
Dina noted Caroline’s new granny status adding, “Maybe becoming a grandmother has brought her back down to earth.”
Dina revealed that despite the family divide, she remains close to her other siblings.
“That’s what people don’t realize. I get infuriated when people say, ‘You don’t speak to your family.’ I have 10 siblings,” she said. “[My brother] Chris [Laurita], I saw him not too long ago, when we lived in Malibu and he came out and we had a nice dinner. We don’t see each other often because we’re on different coasts. But we’re definitely fine. And Jacqueline as well. If they called me tomorrow and they needed me, I’ll be there. They’re great.”
Dina also confirmed her engagement to David Cantin. Dina and Cantin made headlines back in 2015, after their rumored affair was exposed — the romance taking off while Cantin was allegedly still married. Cantin divorced his wife later that year. Dina and Cantin were victims of a violent home invasion in 2017.
