Shannon Beador seeks to co-parent harmoniously with soon-to-be ex David, amid their high-conflict divorce.

As fans know, the former couple have been embroiled in a heated legal battle after The Real Housewives of Orange County star filed for divorce in December 2017.

“I’m in a great place,” she tells People. “I’m surrounded by amazing people and opportunities. I’m very grateful.”

However, with the emotional well-being of their three daughters (Sophie, 16, and twins Stella and Adeline, 13) at stake — Shannon is optimistic about sharing parenting duties with David.

“We’re plugging away,” she says. “We are getting through it. We are doing the best we can. there’s a lot of animosities and I’m hopeful that when everything gets settled we can get to a good co-parenting place.”

Despite their contentious relationship, the 54-year-old mom wants David to maintain an active role in their daughter’s lives.

“I want David to a part of my children’s lives,” she says. “The kids are adjusting actually quite well. We are just muddling through and trying to find a good structure.”

The last time the former couple met in court, David spewed obscenities at his estranged wife over the temporary ruling, “She spends like a freak!” he shouted in the courtroom.

David’s
abusive behavior towards Shannon has been well documented and includes
body-shaming texts he allegedly sent Shannon. He was accused of telling her, “You f—ing disgust me. F— you. What do you have to do? Eat? Because you can’t get off your fat ass.”

In a statement to People Mag, Shannon Beador asserts that she’s committed to deescalating the toxicity surrounding her divorce.

“As David and I continue our divorce proceedings, I’m doing everything I can to move things efficiently along so that our three children are not subjected to unnecessary stress during an already difficult time,” she said. “I want to be as fair as possible. I remain focused on a clean resolution and have no interest in engaging in a war of words.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County premiers tonight, at 9:00 p.m. ET, on Bravo.
