Kim Zolciak has “stopped filming” her Bravo reality series, Don’t Be Tardy, after her racist tirade at the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion on Sunday went viral.
“Kim and her team have halted all production for Don’t Be Tardy while her lawyers have been working around the clock to investigate and deal with the final episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion,” Reports US Weekly. A second insider adds, “Kim has pulled the plug on filming. She’s very upset about the entire situation.”
During the last five minutes of Sunday’s explosive RHOA reunion episode, the mom of six called host and executive producer Andy Cohen into the bathroom to unleash over how she was treated as a “white woman” by her “African-American” castmates: NeNe Leakes, Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, and Cynthia Bailey.
“How much can a person take? There wasn’t even one positive question for me,” Zolciak told Cohen, 49, who responded, “There was nothing positive, unfortunately, in your story from the season. It was all combative.”
After the disturbing footage aired, the 39-year-old found herself in a media firestorm over her blatant racist comments.
“That bitch knows I’m not racist. NeNe knows I’m not racist,” Kim told Cohen. “You know why you have not found another white woman to [join the cast]? Because nobody is dumb enough to do that! Put yourself in my shoes — five African-American women — just hammered! I couldn’t even speak, my mind’s a fu**ing whirlwind!”
Kim didn’t stop there. She ranted her view on the role social media plays in the overall racial climate — noting that before the social media age, “racism wasn’t fu**ing all that real.”
“This whole racism thing in this day in age is bullsh*t. Everyone of those motherf*ckers on that couch owe this world a f*cking apology for this racism sh*t,” Kim said. “They already tried to claim that sh*t long ago. Nobody bought into it then because the social media wasn’t there and racism wasn’t fu**ing all that real. You know it.”
Kim was tagged as a racist during the season, after she commented that Nene Leakes was “sick and disgusting” for living in a “roach nest.” Several of the women took offense to the characterization during the reunion, likening the slam to a cultural stereotype of impoverished black women, living in housing projects.
Don’t Be Tardy, premiered in 2012 and wrapped its sixth season in December.
