Wendy Williams is taking time off from her gossip talk show to focus on her hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease.
On Wednesday, the talk show host announced her diagnosis with Graves’, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid, in addition to thyroid issues of which she was previously aware.
“Graves’ disease squeezes the muscles behind the eyeballs,” she explained, adding that it has made her eyeballs twitch.
The 53 year-old revealed that she often feels “like birds are swimming around my head” and “like constantly high, but not high.”
Per doctor’s orders, Wendy is being forced to take a three-week leave from her popular talk show to handle her serious diagnosis.
“I guess when you don’t take a sick day ever in over 25 years, the ground is supposed to shake,” she noted on Instagram of a recent on-air fainting episode.
