#RHOBH Star Kyle Richards Throws Frenemy Lisa Vanderpump Under The Bus In ‘Tumultuous’ Season 8!
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premieres tonight (Dec 19), and although fan favorite Lisa Vanderpump had a manageable season seven, her return to season eight will prove to be a “tumultuous” one.
“There was some stuff swirling around me, but I was ducking and diving,” she tells ET.
In the Season 8 trailer below, the British bombshell is seen telling co-stars, Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley, that she’d rather be at home with her husband, while driving off in tears. Vanderpump explains her emotional state during that scene.
“Normally I have my cool, and I kind of lost it that day,” she says. “I think on Beverly Hills, you see this wonderful, glittering existence, and you also see the struggle that the women go through.”
“I was like, ‘OK, Alexis Carrington, got it.,’” Kyle recalls of the moment. “It was so out of character for her to let her guard down like that, that’s why my mouth was literally hanging open.”
Viewers can expect a shift in the friendship of Vanderpump and Kyle Richards in the upcoming season. Kyle managed to stick by Lisa’s side in season 7, but expect a sell out in season 8. In previous seasons, Kyle threw her frenemy under the bus and repeatedly triggered conflict with the other ladies as it related to Lisa.
“You know, we have a great relationship, but like any relationship, it has its problems,” she shares. “Like any marriage, or you know, partnership in life or business, you have your struggles, but then you come through it. I think what we have supersedes, you know, the negativity.”
Despite Kyle’s history of quasi-loyalty to Vanderpump, the SUR owner remains optimistic that the relationship is salvageable.
“I do think in some ways, we’re very much the backbone of the show,” she continues. “We’re the two existing [original cast members] and our friendship was always so strong, and it was so authentic. Even now, I call her up and I’m laughing and she’s like, ‘What are you laughing about?’ and then we get to talking about something else.”
Tune into The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills every Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. ET on Bravo to watch the ladies navigate their friendship.
