“Where is Mariah?” — is the burning question plaguing Married to Medicine fans since season 5 of the Bravo reality series launched on November 5.

Married to Medicine star Mariah Huq, chatted exclusively with AllAboutTheTea.com — addressing her noticeable absence from recent episodes.

Mariah explains that her nonappearance was not her decision. She clarifies that Purveyors of POP — the production company that produces the show for Bravo — assigned her a different filming start date from the rest of the cast. In addition, they excluded her from some filmed cast events.

“They [production] didn’t invite me to a few scenes.” Mariah revealed. “They gave me a different filming start date aside from everyone else.”

“But understand this…let them have a few episodes…cause when Motha comes thru she comes through!”

Mariah adds, “Toya invited me to her birthday cooking competition but my family and I were in Dubai at that time.”

The Bravoleb shares that she would love to show viewers more of her multi-cultural family — Mariah’s African-American and her husband, Dr. Aydin Huq, is from Bangladesh.

“In the state of our society, I really think it would be a great look to show my family.” Mariah tells AllAboutTheTea.com exclusively. “We are a beautiful Multi-cultural family with lots going on. A real family, with real life ups and downs. We prove everyday that people from all races, religions and walks of life can come together.”

So when can fans can expect to see the mom of two on the show?

“The end of the next one which is probably episode four. I attended the girls trip in New Orleans.”

After four roller coaster seasons with this Atlanta group of medical professionals — Mariah is looking forward to new beginnings with the cast but continues to be the target of Dr. Heavenly Kimes‘ venom.

“Most of the ladies and I are in a good place. Toya and I have connected again. Same goes for Simone and Jackie — we’re good. Even Quad and I have geniune growth this season. But as for Heavenly — there is NO hope! She’s an evil, unhappy, and horrible person.”

Mariah responds to Dr. Heavenly’s cliquish “Fab 5” shade directed at her, during the “Waiting to Exhale” party.

“I introduced the term ‘Fab 5’ to the group.” Mariah laughed. “Heavenly got that from me! It’s the name of my vlog — “Mariah’s Fab 5,” that I started last year.”

While throwing shade at Mariah, Dr. Heavenly inadvertently promoted her nemesis’ vblog (video blog) — check it out below.

Many Mariah fans feel production has an issue with the outspoken diva — and that they seem to do her dirty every season.

“The one thing I appreciate about Purveyors Of POP is that they definitely use my life, my story, and my ideas as inspiration — doesn’t matter how they use it — I’m a supporter of redistribution.” Mariah tells AllAboutTheTea.com. “I’m just happy to know they value my input and apply it the way they see fit. I do have an amazing unparalleled story.”

As creator, executive producer, and star of Married to Medicine — Mariah faces unique challenges. Fans might not be aware that Mariah is the first non-celebrity to create, executive produce and star in any Bravo show. Whitney Sudler-Smith (Southern Charm) and Lisa Vanderpump (Vanderpump Rules) veered into Mariah’s breakout territory — but unlike Mariah, they remain solidly featured in the opening credits.

Mariah stands as a reality television pioneer — but Bravo continues to limit her role in a production that she put on the map. Mariah’s contribution is clear — but Bravo’s shade is a mystery.

Married to Medicine airs Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET on Bravo.
