Wendy Williams Show staffers are worried about their money maker after she took a nasty spill this week.
As reported, Wendy Williams blamed her on-air fainting to overheating in her Statue of Liberty costume, alluding to menopause as the culprit.
“First of all, I was trending all day — fabulous,” Williams, 53, joked. “But a lot of people thought that was a joke. No, that was not a joke. I don’t want to fall. I’m a tall woman, and it’s a long way down. I’m also a woman of a particular age, and I’m not trying to break anything. Also I don’t do stunts and jokes for you like that. I don’t need that.”
However, show insiders claim stress from her husband, Kevin Hunter’s, alleged years-long affair with a massage therapist is the real reason for her collaspe.
“People are extremely concerned about it and worried she is going to completely lose it because this is so catastrophic for her,” a source tells ET. “Staff on the show are particularly concerned about the stress of it on her. To say she’s not handling the stress well is an understatement.”
Williams confronted the cheating allegations during her talk show in September.
“You can believe what you want, but I stand by my guy. All is well in Hunterville,” Williams stated. “Don’t believe the hype, and if there was hype, believe me you — I would let you know.”
The production source says Williams’ team have known about the trouble in her marriage for quite some time.
