#RHOA Kandi Burruss’ Old Lady Gang Restaurant Pass Health Inspection – Upgraded To ‘A’
When Kandi Burruss‘ Atlanta restaurant, Old Lady Gang, opened this spring — the eatery was an instant favorite with locals, but recently experienced a minor snafu.
According to Georgia Department of Health records dated August 24 — the Old Lady Gang received a slew of health code violations and earned a dismal “C” rating. The inspection report revealed the following infractions:
- No soap or paper towels located at hand washing sink
- Observed soil buildup inside ice bin.
- Observed potentially hazardous food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit
- Observed employee with no hair restraint.
- Observed employee with no hair restraint.
- Wet wiping cloth not stored in sanitizing solution between uses.
- Observed cutting board grooved/pitted and no longer cleanable.
However, the restauranteur cracked the whip on her staff and all the violations were quickly corrected.
On August 29, the health inspector graded the establishment an “A,” after a follow-up examination.
After news broke of the bad rating — the 41-year-old businesswoman released a statement.
“We did receive a C because of minor things like we ran out of paper towels by the sink, or someone was missing a hair net… we quickly corrected those things & now have an A,” she said. “I’m sure those people who were googling had to see the A but they failed to mention it.”
Kandi added, “I just don’t understand why people don’t want my family and I to be great. We love our customers and someone from my family is always there to greet people and give hugs.”
