Kailyn Lowry Orders Baby Daddy Chris Lopez To Take DNA Test After Legal Loophole Makes Ex Javi the Father!

Who’s your daddy? Well, in the case of Kailyn Lowry’s baby — the daddy in question is her ex-husband, Javi Marroquin.

The Teen Mom 2 stars will soon be embroiled in another legal issue. Because of a weird Delaware law, Javi will be recognized as the father of Kailyn’s baby — even though he’s not the biological dad. That honor goes to Chris Lopez.

According to Delaware law, if the child is born less than 300 days after a divorce, the ex-husband is presumed to be the father. And since Kailyn and Javi were divorced in December 2016, financial and legal responsibilities for this new child will fall to Javi. If he wants to prove that he’s not the daddy, he’ll have to file a denial of paternity. So far, he hasn’t filed any paperwork.

And there’s a twist. Chris Lopez must also file a statement, discharging Javi from parental duties.

In a recent interview, Javi has confirmed that he won’t be involved in the baby’s life, though he still maintains a relationship with Kailyn’s son, Isaac.

Since Kailyn has admitted that Chris Lopez might not have any involvement in her new child’s life, things could get very tangled for Javi. He may have to interact with this baby whether he wants to or not.

Kailyn recently wrote in her blog, “I think I’m most worried about the changes ahead, but also that I will have this baby 24/7 by myself with no help. I’m going to be a single parent from the beginning!”
