#RHOBH Lisa Rinna Recklessly Promotes Pill-Popping Amid the Nation’s Deadly Drug Epidemic!

Lisa Rinna has made her junior season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills all about a bag of pills.

Rinna’s rehearsed shtick ricochets between smirky giggles and dodgy denials — and some believe her quasi-druggie storyline to be grossly irresponsible.

Rinna is all about hustling a relevant groove. She’s an actress, and is swiftly building a shady rep as a reality TV double-talker. However, naive fans exist — and her splashy cosign of casual prescription drug use could easily be misconstrued.

Consider these troubling 2015 statistics, according to the Center for Lawful Access and Abuse Deterrence, on the exploding prescription drug epidemic.

  • In the US alone, more than 15 million people abuse prescription drugs. Source: Foundation for a Drug-Free World
  • Almost 50% of teens surveyed believe that prescription drugs are much safer than illegal street drugs. Source: Foundation for a Drug-Free World
  • The number of women who lost their lives to opioid pain reliever overdoses rose 415% between 1999 and 2010 (compared to 250% for men). Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) via Center for Lawful Access and Abuse Deterrence
  • 54.2% of prescription drug users get them free from a friend or relative. Source: National Institute on Drug Abuse
  • Medical emergencies resulting from prescription drug abuse increased 132% over the last seven years, with opioid involvement rising 183%.

Viewers have been sounding off on Twitter about Rinna’s social media posts   and her Bravo-blessed pill-popper persona.

Bravo wraps RHOBH next week — but will Rinna’s immature chattering about all things pills end with Season 7?

What are your thoughts about Rinna’s Bravo game — reality gag, or reckless reality?

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills wraps it’s season, Tuesday night, on Bravo.
