Abby Lee Miller Replaced By #DWTS Pro Cheryl Burke On #DanceMoms
Out with the old, in with the new!
Dance Mom’s Abby Lee Miller has been replaced by Dancing With the Stars pro, Cheryl Burke. That was a quick step if ever we saw one. Lifetime is now saying they want to keep this show going “with or without Abby.”
“It’s been up in the air because the network said it’s either all the cast of they weren’t doing any [more episodes],” a source close to the show tells ET.
The series has reportedly been picked up for four more episodes and will resume filming with Burke on March 29.
Abby bolted from [filming] three or four episodes recently and fill-in choreographer Laurieann Gibson temporarily took over in Abby’s absence. Abby returned, but had a list of demands with her that included no one could say a word about her pending fraud case and she wanted Gibson removed from the set.
Miller announced her decision to leave Dance Mom’s earlier in the week after seven seasons.
“I will no longer take part in Dance Moms,” she wrote. “For the past six years/seven season I have asked, begged and even demanded creative credit for all the ideas, award winning routines, themes and costuming – To no avail!”
Abby went on to say she loves working with children and making them successful. “I just have a problem with being manipulated, disrespected and used day in and day out by men who never took a dance lesson in their lives and treat women like dirt!”
Days later fellow cast mates, Ashlee Allen and Brynn Rumfallo announced they would be exiting the show as well.
Miller will learn what the judge has in store for her in the upcoming weeks. The maximum penalty is 30 months in prison. Last June Miller pled guilty to not reporting an international monetary transaction and one count of concealing bankruptcy assets.
Good luck to Cheryl Burke fitting into Abby Lee Miller’s big dance shoes.
