Jacqueline Laurita is revealing why she chose to step away from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, ahead of Season 8.

In a refreshingly honest disclosure, Jacqueline confirmed on Twitter that she quit the show after being offered only an initial part-time role. Jacqueline responded to a fan, wondering what triggered the decision.

Jacqueline’s admission is a rare sighting — because although her scenario is a common one, few Housewives admit it as their reason to part ways with Bravo. Jacqueline is an original cast member of RHONJ, and has been a  part of the ensemble since the show’s debut in 2009.

The show is set to return later this year with both a new face and a flashback memory, filling Jacqueline’s slot. Newbie, Margaret Josephs, and Bravo alum, Danielle Staub, were allegedly brought on to amp a tempo that has dragged since Joe and Teresa Giudice were busted and sent to prison for fraud. The show was put on hold until Teresa’s release, and Staub spent Season 7 season campaigning for a comeback.

Could Staub’s rumored return be Jacqueline’s code word for “aggravation?” Staub is known for creating drama — and might stir things up, especially against the backdrop of the reinvented relationship between Teresa, and sis-in-law, Melissa Gorga.

Jacqueline responded to another viewer, thanking him for his warm message of support.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently filming.
