#RHOBH Erika Girardi Faces Her Wounded Childhood But Dodges Child Abandonment Scandal
One of the most glaring questions swirling around The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills points to the plodding character development of Erika Girardi.
Bravo is finally revealing the direction of Erika’s personal storyline — but it’s not what most viewers are expecting. Bravo begins delving into Erika’s relationship with her mother this week — in another apparent schlepp toward building interest around Erika’s “Girardi” side. Fans want to know about Erika’s past as a mother — but it appears that all will have to settle for her childhood history instead. Erika hopes to explain what encouraged her ice princess persona — but will fans even care?
In a preview clip of tonight’s episode, Erika and her mother interact, while Erika fills us in on their relationship — one built on a rocky past.
“I get accused of being cold, because I don’t cry,” Erika says to her mother, adding in a confessional, “My mother was hard on me. She never really cut me any breaks. I wasn’t allowed to be a baby.”
“But it made you a tough old bird, didn’t it?” Erika’s mother responds.
Evidently, Erika’s controversial parenting history is off the table — will viewers embrace Bravo’s rather lame substitute?
