Erika Girardi Defends Her Marriage To Older Tom Girardi In Bizarre Rant — #RHOBH Fans React!
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Erika Girardi, is working overtime to defend her marriage — and many fans are wondering why.
Viewers got a rare glimpse of Erika and her husband, Tom Girardi, on a lunch date during Tuesday’s episode. Erika sounded off in defense of her marriage in a confessional clip — seemingly out of nowhere.
“I don’t know if people still doubt my marriage or not, but it’s interesting,” Erika said. “I’m not really worried about other people’s marriages, I don’t know why they should be worried about mine. They’re not paying my bills, so why would I give a f— what they think?”
Bravo even offered a filler blog, reiterating Erika’s oddly passionate position. Such a sentiment may have been a timely one last season — when the grandhusband/wife team first hit the Bravo scene— but now? Fan sentiment about the Girardi union has never been tamer — so why is Erika so wound up? Who exactly is “worried about” her marriage?
No one would argue that the Girardis share an untraditional reality. Tom enjoys his career as a high-powered lawyer, and Erika loves her life as Erika Jayne — dance club icon. Erika continues to repeat that she spent the first ten years of their marriage as a lawyer’s wife. Is she implying that her years by her husband’s side have come to an end? She continues to vehemently defend their lifestyle in the face of only mild fan feedback, and zero evident shade from the cast.
“People are always like, ‘Oh you guys don’t see each other a lot,’ but when we do see each other, it’s 100% full-on attention,” Erika said. “This is what people don’t understand: It’s not a detriment to the relationship, it’s actually helpful. It’s better than someone being in your face all the time and you’re not even present.”
The filmed lunch date admittedly did not exactly translate as two crazy kids in love. Erika cordially thanked Tom for his time — and Tom shot back a “lookin’ good,” giving off a strangely wooden vibe. Tom did make note of the fact that it’s mighty “xxpensive” to be married to Erika Jayne.
“I like fact that it’s named ‘XXpensive’,” Tom said about her latest single. “It kinda suits you.”
“They’re not paying my bills, so why would I give a f— what they think?” Erika follows, in a confessional spot.
Did Erika just point to the real matrimonial deal? For someone who never gives a f*ck — Erika is exposing quite the opposite.
