Police Suspect Bethenny Frankel May Be Exaggerating Claims Against Ex Jason Hoppy For ‘Revenge’
After Jason Hoppy’s arrest last Friday for stalking and harassing his ex-wife, Bethenny Frankel, at their daughter Bryn’s school, more details are emerging about the aggressive tone and excessive frequency of Hoppy’s emails. However, a new report claims that police think this was more about Bethenny wanting to, “take revenge” on her ex.
The complaint against Hoppy, alleges that he sent 160 emails between November 2016 and Jan 27, 2017.
One email sent by Hoppy in August of 2016 stated:
“Despite your games. I’ll never let you do to me what your mother did to your father. I’ll never go away.”
Another email sent in October of 2016 stated:
“Your definition of harassment is comical. I will continue to communicate with you as I see fit.”
On another occasion, Hoppy reportedly emailed Bethenny asking for a copy of her life insurance. However, Page 6 is reporting that,
“Detectives suspect Frankel may be exaggerating her claims against Hoppy, possibly to get ‘revenge’ on her ex.”
At the school, the complaint said Hoppy made the following statement:
“Okay I see. This is how you want to do this. Okay. You can play your game. It doesn’t matter. You can get 10 lawyers. There’s nothing you can do to stop me. You’ll be sorry. You’ve been warned. I can’t help it.”
Hoppy also allegedly told Bethenny’s boyfriend, “She’s pure evil.”
After the incident, Bethenny went to the police precinct to file a report with her lawyer and a few friends. The source revealed Bethenny was a “C-lister” who was out for “revenge.”
“She was making more out of this than it was, that was the overall impression. She’s been involved in a terrible divorce with this guy. And it seemed to us that she was filing the report because she wanted to take revenge on him, get back at him for something he did connected to the divorce. This is common among celebrity types – even C-listers like her – when they’re involved in a bad divorce,” the police source said.
And depending on your opinion of the Jason Hoppy / Bethenny Frankel divorce saga, you’ll have to take this next part with a grain of salt.
“We get this a lot,” the police source continued. “It did not appear to us like Hoppy was going to attack her in any way. He seems like a pretty cool character. But she filed the report and because of that we had cause to arrest him.”
