Heather Dubrow FIRED After Refusing ‘RHOC’ Demotion?

Heather Dubrow will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Orange County — but “Miss Fancypants” might not be giving viewers the real story.

Heather joined the OC cast in Season 7, initially injecting a refreshing shot of “fancy” into the cast. Viewers watched her family grow, and move on up  in the world of real estate, as Heather, along with husband, Dr.  Terry Dubrow, navigated careers in the reality spotlight.

Heather announced her departure on her podcast, Heather Dubrow’s World. Heather was careful to point out that she made this decision — and that she was “walking away” from Bravo.

“If you’re wondering why I’ve decided to not come back, it wasn’t an easy decision,” Heather explained. “You know, it’s hard to walk away from something, first of all, that’s been successful for five years, and truly has given us so much. But I just feel like, right at this particular point in time, a couple of things [changed my mind].”

“First of all, my kids,” Heather continued. “My oldest kids are now teenagers, and I just felt like they need to make their own decision about being on television and exposing their lives, and for me personally, I have some really cool, interesting opportunities that I want to explore. I don’t know where they’re going to go, but I want the opportunity to explore them.”

The Dirty is reporting a different story — that Heather was axed, after she refused to accept a demotion.

“Heather was offered a friend role for this season,” a source told the outlet. “However, she decided not to take it.”

“Production was bored with her storyline. It’s been about her house and wealth for years, and they didn’t feel there was enough substance for her to return again as a full time Housewife,” the insider continued. “Heather turned down the friend role and thus left.”

Heather came under fan-fire last season, when a cast trip to Ireland turned ugly. Heather was captured teaming with Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador, in a seemingly calculated and nasty shut-out of controversial rookie, Kelly Dodd.

Heather shared her current thoughts about Kelly during her podcast.

“I was only on one season with Kelly. I’m glad Kelly and I ended the season in a good place and texted each other and moved on in a nice way. We had a lot of laughs together,” Heather said. “She has beautiful taste, and a sweet daughter.”

Heather also shared a chilly relationship with Kelly’s ally, Vicki Gunvalson. Heather offered some friendly parting comments on the OG of the OC.

Vicki and I were never best friends, we didn’t call each other all the time or text each other,” Heather said. “But again, we had a lot of laughs, she’s very funny. I have to say, she is someone who definitely knows how to have a good time. She can take an ordinary ‘we’re just sitting around doing this’ — and turn it into, as she would say, ‘whooping it up.’ I’ll miss that.”
