Shemar Moore and Phaedra Parks from the Real Housewives of Atlanta stopped by the clubhouse to chat with Andy Cohen for Watch What Happens Live.
The first thing Andy wanted to know was if the Nation of Islam security team was teaching Phaedra and her employees how to diffuse a potentially violent situation, why did Phaedra’s mom, Pastor Regina think breaking the bridge of one’s nose was a better way to go? Phaedra just said her mama has “got to be multitalented.” Okay, then.
Kenya’s sometimes boyfriend, Matt Jordan’s, Instagram rant came up. He accused Kenya of lying about him and portraying him as insecure on the show. And he didn’t like his violent reputation either. Phaedra was clueless about their status.
“I don’t know what’s going on with them. I know they’ve been together for over a year now. I’m not really sure, because I try to mind my own business. But I feel bad for Kenya if it’s a crazy as it sounds.”
Apollo has gotten engaged while in prison and his fiancée flashed her toilet paper (one ply, I’m sure) ring. What’s Phaedra’s take?
“My best wishes. Thank you Jesus, it’s [the divorce] final. TMZ said it, so you know it’s true.”
Phaedra was cagier when it came to her own dating life. As All About The Tea reported, Phaedra’s been seeing Welcome to Sweetie Pies star, Tim Norman. But when Andy asked if she was dating, she simply said, “I hope so.”
When Andy asked for a name, Phaedra turned to the adorable Shemar Moore and they started kissing.
Next, Andy played a clip of Mama Joyce slipping incognito into the attorney’s office that Phaedra used for her divorce. Under the guise of asking for a “friend”, Mama Joyce wanted to know how long it took to get a divorce from a spouse who’s in the big house. Then, Mama Joyce confronted Phaedra at Kandi Burruss’s tasting party. #ShadyLady Kandi tried to shut Mama Joyce down, but Mama Joyce went in on the bomb scare next.
Kandi claimed she had no knowledge of Mama Joyce’s visit to the lawyer. Phaedra simply raised her brows and said, “It was interesting.” And when Andy asked if Phaedra believed Kandi’s innocence, she simply blinked and smiled, refusing to answer.
Shemar gave his take on the Atlanta ladies.
About Porsha Williams and her desire to have a baby with a man she hasn’t dated in years, Shemar said:
“Whoa, whoa. Pump your breaks. Look, if you want to have a kid and all that, at some point you need to let the man know that’s the direction you’re headed, but she never dated him? Nothing? Have they got between the sheets and made it happen? You can’t just get with a man and say, ‘Okay, if you want this you’ve got to give me a kid.’ It’s like you got to get to know each other and have a good time.”
After her divorce from Peter, Cynthia Bailey believed she was possibly destined to be single. Shemar disagreed.
“Nah, nah, nah. Cuz then you’re gonna buy two cats and watch the Notebook every week… Spend some time by yourself. Stella, get your groove back. But nobody wants to spend this life by themself, and nobody wants their stuff to turn into cobwebs.”
Kenya has been trying to make her relationship with Matt work, despite the fact that he’s younger, insecure, and not used to her celebrity status. Shemar said:
“Not happening. I heard he’s a little violent, too. If he’s immature and…look, guys get real intimidated because men want to be the man. But when they have a woman on her own pedestal and they don’t feel like they can compete, the insecurity is not going to go away. She needs to find a man that’s on her level.”
Talking about his own sex life, Shemar gave a little insight into what he likes and what’s a deal breaker. While he doesn’t mind role playing and fake breasts, he prefers the booty. He could get into spanking, as long as he’s the giver. But Andy wanted to spank Shemar, so Shemar bent over and got a slap. It was even less sexy than it sounds.
On a sneak peek of next week’s RHOA, Phaedra and Kandi have a sit down over Mama Joyce’s shade. Phaedra wanted to work things out with Kandi, but Kandi called Phaedra out on all her lies. Kandi even made reference to the supposed dalliance Phaedra had while Apollo was getting ready for prison. Remember Mr. Chocolate? According to Kandi, that Chocolate melted in Phaedra’s mouth, not in her hand. OMG!
Phaedra said she just laughed it off.
“She [Kandi] was very hostile. It’s like, where is this hostility coming from? This has been going on for three seasons now. Like, get a new storyline.”
Shemar said he’d love to go back to Criminal Minds.
“…I’d love to come back, but there’s politics involved. There’s people above me that have to make that decision.”
Rumors were that Shemar and Thomas Gibson, who was fired from the show, didn’t get along.
“I’ll be straight up honest, it’s a family. You have good days, you have bad days. So, we were like brothers. Sometimes we were feeling each other, and then there were times when we weren’t. He was necessary, I was necessary to make that show happen. I have mad respect for what we did together.”
A caller was curious about the status of Phaedra and Kandi’s relationship.
“You know, all good things come to an end. And it ended over two years ago. We’re very polite and cordial, but there is no relationship.”
Shemar said he’s “always dating” but there’s no ring on his finger. And he’s forty-six-years old, by the way. Apparently, forty-six is the new thirty? At least where Shemar is concerned. Also, he’s never been married and has no children.
“I’m blessed with this life, but I want to share it with somebody. So, I’m excited to say, ‘I do.’ And I’m excited to be a daddy.”
When a caller asked what kind of man Phaedra might be looking for, Shemar leaned over and kissed her cheek. And neck. And there was a little tongue action that made Andy’s mouth drop. Phaedra swooned and said:
“I’m looking no further. He’s right here beside me.”
I think she was joking?
What about Apollo’s claims that the divorce isn’t valid because his name was misspelled?
“TMZ reported it correctly the first time. We are divorced.”
Phaedra discussed the bomb threat a little further. Even though she claimed she and her office weren’t in danger:
“Any time there’s any threat, you know, risk management requires that you obviously take it seriously. Anyone who knows me knows I am with the Nation of Islam quite often…so that’s nothing new for me. They’re always there for me…so when this happened I called them. I needed an expert.”
The poll question of the night pitted Mama Joyce against Phaedra. Phaedra won at 82%.
So, was Mama Joyce wrong to get into Phaedra’s business or did Phaedra need to be called out for her lies?
