‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Episode 2 SPOILERS: The Next Episode Is Opposite Of Premiere

The Walking Dead returned on Oct. 23 with the most controversial episode yet in its seven-year run. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed off two major characters in “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.” What does episode two of season seven, “The Well,” have in store? Will Negan murder another member of the group at Alexandria? Take a look at the teaser trailer above and join the hunt for clues among its must-watch 90 seconds.

The synopsis for the episode, courtesy of AMC reads, “For a number of familiar faces, a new, well-established community seems too good to be true.” But what does this mean? Yes, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the others return to the safe zone. But what of Carol (Melissa McBride) and Morgan (Lennie James)? We last saw them in an unexpected place, but just where are they?

Don’t expect to find out what’s going on with Rick, Daryl and the others after all that bloody Negan drama. The show, as it so often does, pivots in a completely different direction this week to catch up with Carol and Morgan. Turns out they’ve wound up in a weird little community called The Kingdom, which is run by a really odd dude named Ezekiel. Oh, and then there’s this tiger …

Morgan explains to Carol in the sneak peek of episode two above,“The people here, they call this place the Kingdom.” It is ruled by King Ezekiel (Khary Payton), a man never seen without his pet tiger Shiva by his side. Indeed, Morgan characterizes him as “someone who does his own thing.” Expect to see more of the Kingdom clan in this sophomore episode as Carol comes to understand where she is. As Morgan tells her, “They’ve been helping you, so I’ve been helping them.”

Meanwhile, Rick tells his followers that he is no longer their leader. “Let me put this to all of you as clearly as I can, I’m not in charge anymore – Negan is.” What will that mean to those just learning of the murders of Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and then Glenn (Steven Yeun) by Negan? How will they react to Rick ceding his authority to this killer? Will they rise up only to be struck down by Negan?

The Walking Dead Season 7, episode 2 airs on AMC — Sunday at 9:00 p.m. ET.
