The road to restaurant ownership has been long and arduous for Kandi and husband Todd Tucker, who revealed plans to open a new Atlanta based restaurant, Old Lady Gang. The eatery pays homage to family members, Aunt Nora, Aunt Bertha, and Mama Joyce.

Unsurprisingly, things aren’t off to a good start, as two construction contractors are claiming they have not been paid for their services. The total amount they allegedly owe sums up to more than $22,000.

According to the Daily Mail, a carpenter is claiming he is owed more than $16,000 and even received fraudulent checks from their general contractor. Additionally, an HVAC contractor says he’s also owed more than $5,000 for his services.

Kandi and Todd have reportedly been hit with one lien for $16,512 by a carpenter named, Charles Busbee, who says he was scheduled to be paid by June 30, but hasn’t received a dime.

Busbee, putting his foot down, says if he is not paid immediately, he will be forced to take further action against the couple.

“I have spoken with you on numerous occasions since you wrote the three (3) checks, and I have received only empty promises to match my empty pockets,” Busbee wrote to the General Contractor.

The HVAC contractor, identified as Tyrone Manuel, says he was supposed to be paid by the end of August, but hasn’t received anything either.
