Drugs, Cheating & MORE! Inside Angelina Jolie’s Dark Past
With the divorce announcement of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, it feels like our world has fallen off its axis. If these two can’t make it, what hope is there for the rest of us? But think back to simpler times when Bragelina didn’t exist. There used to be a cooler side to Angie and Brad – before they met.
Remember when Angie announced she was in love with her brother during her Academy Award acceptance speech after kissing him on the red carpet? Remember when Angie was married to Billy Bob Thornton and they wore the other’s vial of blood around their necks? And remember when Angie waited for the precise moment for Brad to falter on their private jet before filing for divorce? Bring back the Angie we used to want to drink whiskey with before she started saving the world.
Remember the first time you saw Brad in Thelma & Louise? Remember when he married everyone’s friend, Jennifer Aniston, and we thought they’d be together forever? Remember when he and his best pals George Clooney and Matt Damon used to play practical jokes on each other? Bring back the Brad that used to be fun.
The thing is, Jolie has a dark side. She admitted this during a 60 Minutes interview and spoke of “heavier, darker times and I survived them” acknowledging “I didn’t die young” after a bout in the 90’s with reported drug use.
When Jolie removed her breasts and ovaries after testing positive for BRCA genes, a disease that hit close to home after ovarian cancer took the life of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, in 2007, Brad later spoke of his wife’s courage and their future. “It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter, and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together.”
Unfortunately they are together no more.
