Heartless! Shannon Beador Feels ‘Justified’ Not Visiting Vicki Gunvalson After Buggy Crash

On the Real Housewives of Orange County, the ATV accident aftermath played out in the latest episode. Vicki Gunvalson was discharged from the ER with a neck brace. Tamra Judge was allowed to go home, too. But by not visiting Vicki at the hospital, Shannon Beador took a lot of heat. Now, she explains her decision and stands by her choices.

“I know a lot of people are going to give me grief for tonight’s episode. I understand why anyone would feel that way.”

Shannon didn’t hear the news until she and Meghan Edmonds were on the golf course.

“I was perplexed that no one chose to call me and let me know the news… When Meghan told me her account of her conversation with Heather and Kelly, the accident did not sound serious. Meghan said that Kelly and Heather were laughing and that Kelly was drinking a beer.”

Still, when someone is taken to the hospital by lifeflight, isn’t the situation potentially serious?

“…after the accident, Meghan was in constant contact with Vicki at the hospital to get updates on her condition. Meghan gave me each update. I was shocked at dinner when Meghan showed me selfie pics that Vicki had taken of herself. If I were injured, that would be the least of my concerns.”

To be fair, that wasn’t exactly a selfie they flashed on the screen. That was a picture someone had snapped of Vicki strapped to a spine board.

“To everyone who says I don’t have a sensitive or kind side, I do. If Vicki had been admitted for her injuries, it would have been a different story. Fortunately for her, she was released with only a neck brace.”

Shannon stands by her convictions.

“I believe that I am completely justified in not going to the hospital. Vicki is not my friend. A friend would not be doing or saying the things that Vicki is recently connected to.”

Shannon hints at upcoming drama later in the season. Will everyone stay on Team Vicki or is her reprieve temporary?

“Continue to watch this season as it unfolds, and you will better understand why my decision was justified. Vicki has basically done nothing but lie to me in the last year and a half, and I want nothing to do with her. But once again…had Vicki’s injuries been serious enough for her to be admitted, I would have been at the hospital at that point.”

When Tamra called to give her status to Meghan and Shannon, she was all kinds of pissed that the girls hadn’t been round to see Vicki.

Tamra is one of my best friends and I had no idea the accident occurred as she described. Before Tamra hung up on Meghan, I kept trying to say that the most important thing to focus on was that everyone was all right… It seemed as though everyone was taking out their understandable aggression in the wrong place.”

Meghan was quick to rush to Vicki’s side the next day and make amends.

“…I don’t know that going down to see Vicki at her home made a lot of sense. It is interesting to note, that in the flashback scene with Vicki and Meghan from last year, I am standing by my friend Vicki’s side defending her…”

Yeah, yeah, we get it. Shannon was Vicki’s biggest champion last season until Vicki their fall out. Now, let it go, woman! You don’t have to like her, but stop yapping about it!

“My dinner with Tamra and Heather was awkward at first. I am upset that Heather is angry with Meghan. They have a history together and I can’t help but think that some of the shock/frustration/fear of the accident is being taken out on Meghan…I don’t think it is reasonable that she is threatening her friendship with Meghan over what is clearly a misinterpretation.”

So, did Shannon do the right thing to stay away from Vicki’s bedside? Why was Meghan so quick to go and apologize to Vicki? And was Heather being overly dramatic with her PTSD talk?
