On The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Melissa Gorga has been sitting on the fence. She’s played friend to Jacqueline Laurita and has been trying to mend her relationship with sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice. But since the two women didn’t get along, it was a balancing act. Now that they’ve reunited, where does that leave Melissa?

“As you can see, this girls trip was exactly what we all needed… A time to hang out, talk, laugh, and relax. We were all rooting for Teresa and Jacqueline to make peace and this was the best place to do that — away from our everyday lives and stresses.”

Jacqueline maintains that Melissa is jealous of her relationship with Teresa. But Melissa stresses that she’s wanted Jac and Tre back together.

“It was nice to see that Teresa and Jacqueline could move on so quickly and let it go. I’ve always wanted that for them and that’s why I pushed to get them together that weekend. Believe me, I don’t like being in the middle when they aren’t getting along.”

But now that Jacqueline and Teresa have made up, there are a few cracks showing in Melissa’s relationship with Jac.

“What annoyed me was Jacqueline’s paranoia when Dolores and I were talking at the pool and then again back at the house. Her emotional highs and lows have been kicked up a notch ever since Teresa came home and we all started hanging out.”

Melissa wonders if Jacqueline is a true friend.

“I have always been a good friend to her, but her actions recently show me that she wants to push me away rather than embrace the new peaceful dynamic she claims she wants for everyone.”

It’s been harder for Melissa to reconnect with Teresa. Tre is a grudge holder who can never let go of the past, nor does she accept any responsibility for her part in the drama.

“…my relationship with Teresa when she first came home was much more delicate. We had to want to let go of the past and want to build a solid, real friendship and move forward with each other… I feel like for us, there is much more at stake because friends come and go, but family is forever and our family is finally in a good place.”

I hope it stays that way, for the kids’ sake if nothing else. Anyway, that boring girls’ weekend was a nice change of pace for Melissa.

“…I liked that this episode was pretty drama-free and actually showed a lot of the fun we had that weekend. I absolutely loved spending time with Teresa. We have such a playful relationship, and I do think MOST of the girls are happy for us.”

And the moment where Jacqueline broke down because of her son was a bonding moment for the women.

“The trip was very eye-opening for us and no matter what is going on with our relationships with each other, the one thing we can all agree on is our love for our kids. They are our pride and joy, and I truly felt for Jacqueline when she got upset.”

The addition of Siggy Flicker and Dolores Catania hasn’t done much for me. What’s your take on this season so far?
