The Real Housewives of New Jersey has been a mixed bag this season.
One odd duck quacking in the criminal wreckage has been a thin-skinned rookie, who’s defining her reality by putting viewers to sleep.
“Boring” is the latest buzz word, and Siggy Flicker’s week-long hissy-fit, in response to innocuous fan feedback, has elevated a dose of vanilla snark to a red-hot slam. So what pushed fans to flip the “boring” card at the noisy reality star of the hour? Viewer comments tell the story.
Volume over content — Siggy’s endless screeching and bellowing, while communicating little, is tiresome. Dimensionless noise is not an attention-grabber.
“I skip her scenes due to her being sooooo loud/obnoxious and Boring…i thought it was just me. #Headache”
“Siggy, you are indeed BORING! Being loud does not make you interesting.”
“So, she doesn’t expect to be on the show for long? Good. I don’t think she brings that much to it, and I get a ringing in my ears while she screeches.”
One way conversations — The sound of Siggy’s own high-octane chatter, trumps listening or relating to others.
“I just cannot tolerate people who hear only themselves 24/7. She doesn’t even afford her own parents the respect of shutting UP!”
“Can’t stand someone who just talks over everyone and won’t shut up.”
Fakery — Sharp reality fans can easily spot a manipulative Bravo strategy. A “relationship expert,” life-coaching a cast until they beg for mercy, doesn’t translate as genuine.
“She’s been on a few reality shows and if you listen to her “expert” advice carefully, you’ll see she repeats the same stuff and speaks in circles. Siggy has been pulling her expert schtick for a long time.”
“I agree. She comes off unnatural and staged.”
Snoozy storylines — Bravo can take the hit for this one, but a mother’s battle with phone-obsessed teens is annoying drudgery — few want to watch a hormonal parental grind on reality TV. Her love and light shtick is proving to be one-note, and cliche.
“She can’t be this delusional to come on a toxic reality show and pretend like people want to see her boring non-existent storyline.”
“….. peace does not have to be boring.”
No social media game — Siggy lacks the gift of a clever comeback, or on-point snark. Social media interaction allows connection with the fans, and wise management of such, is part of the reality gig. Her over-the-top Twitter tantrums reveal a surprisingly uncreative, insecure, and paranoid social media presence.
“I’m actually enjoying Siggy on the show, but girlfriend really needs to stay off SM, and leave to snark up to the bloggers and bitches like us. She clearly has NO online ‘game’ whatsoever.”
“Even when she’s bitching she’s boring.”
“I agree that she has a right to defend herself, but once you start calling people haters and bullies, simply for stating their opinions, you’ve lost the fight.”
“Even in her righteous indignation mode she is boring.”
“Siggy seems to feel she’s the only one that can be negative and only her opinion matters.”
Bravo ‘Housewives’ are labeled greedy, ostentatious, trashy, skanky, attention-whores, shrews, bitches, snobs, sluts, gold diggers, drunks, druggies…the list goes on and on. Siggy Flicker has managed to magnify a watered-down jab into the new “B” word. A cast hire who proves too boring to be a bitch, might be a Bravo first.
