Pay Up! ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ Star Todd Chrisley Owes $500K In Tax Liens
It turns out that Todd Chrisley doesn’t actually know best – at least when it comes to dealing with the IRS.
The patriarch reality star of USA’s Chrisley Knows Best, owes over $500 million in unpaid tax liens. That’s a lot of cashmere sweaters!
Reportedly the federal tax liens were filed by the IRS in Fulton County on July 21, including a series of unpaid taxes. Here’s the breakdown: In 2009, Chrisley owed $507,315.97, in 2010 – $1,654.26, in 2011 – $52,227.57, and in 2012 – $29,094.99. The grand total is now $590,292.79.
According to the federal government, at any moment they could begin seizing Chrisley’s assets if he doesn’t make payments soon. The lien read in part:
“We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid.” Radar Online reports. “Therefore, there is a lien in favor of the United States on all property and rights to property belonging to this taxpayer for the amount of these taxes, and additional penalties, interest, and costs that may accrue.”
The new debt came on the designer heels of Chrisley’s 2012 bankruptcy. During the bankruptcy case, Chrisley was accused of fraud; however, that claim has been settled.
