Giving Back! ‘RHOA’ Star Kenya Moore Is Raising Funds To Pay College Tuition For A Student — Details HERE!
Kenya Moore is putting her money where her mouth is!
Moore loves the spotlight, but is now giving back, far from the reality stage. When The Real Housewives of Atlanta star learned that De’Juae Leathers, a Howard University student, was stiffed by her summer job and couldn’t pay for her fall semester, Kenya took action. Kenya has set up a GoFundMe page to help raise the cash to cover the young woman’s expenses, so she can continue her education.

Anyone can set up a GoFundMe page — but Kenya is going above and beyond — matching every dollar raised by Thursday. The total goal is, $4,270 and so far nearly $1,500 has been raised. Kenya and Leathers have reportedly known each other for five years. Kenya describes De’Juae, aka “DJ,” as a “wickedly smart and witty” young woman, with an “amazing spirit.”
Leathers wrote on the GoFundMe page, “My name is De’Juae Leathers and I am a passionate, hardworking, dedicated, and outgoing student at Howard University. I am a sophomore Political Science and African American double major and Public Relations minor.” She continued, “Due to the many knives life throws at you fulfilling the responsibility of paying for my education alone has become a burden that is keeping me from enrolling for a new year.”
According to Leathers, all financial aid resources have been exhausted, so she was thrilled to land the paid summer internship with “an ambassador to an African nation,” reports TMZ. Leathers was counting on the cash for school, but never received the promised paycheck. Kenya‘s intervention has given Leathers a renewed hope that she will be able to hit the books, into her sophomore year.
Kenya always puts her money where her mouth is, and her heart is in youth education. As you recall, she also cut a check for $20K to help Detroit Public Schools Foundation in 2014, issuing the challenge to fellow castmate, NeNe Leakes.
