Bravo’s hit yachting series, Below Deck is set to launch Season 4 in under a month, along with it’s chief stew, Kate Chastain.

Viewers can expect to see the Melbourne Beach FL resident’s former girlfriend, Rocio Hernandez, featured in at least one upcoming episode of the Bravo hit show.

Last week, the state’s attorney’s office charged Chastain with domestic battery by strangulation and battery domestic violence against Hernandez, after an alleged June attack in Melbourne Beach. Chastain’s lawyer, Gary Frese of Melbourne, is speaking out, emailing FLORIDA TODAY with a statement from the Bravoleb.

Ms. Kate Chastain regrets the incident that occurred between her and Ms. (Rocio) Hernandez. The version of the incident told to the police by Ms. Hernandez is completely fictitious. Ms. Hernandez, a former professional fitness trainer over six feet tall, physically attacked Ms. Chastain who tried her best to defend herself during the attack. Ms. Chastain is of very slight build and is 5 foot 7 inches tall. At no time was Ms. Chastain the aggressor in the altercation. When all the actual facts are determined in the legal process Ms. Chastain will be completely vindicated and Ms. Hernandez will be shown to have a history of violent behavior and to have completely misrepresented the facts to the police about Ms. Chastain’s actions.”

Chastain was charged with the crime a week after Bravo announced that Chastain would be back for Season 4 of Below Deck — after appearing on Seasons 2 and 3, as chief stew. According to the police report, Chastain“went into a fit of rage,” after returning home from a bar, on June 11. Chastain bit her girlfriend on the forearm, inner bicep and leg, held her down and “strangled” her, put her knee on her head and pulled her hair, and covered her mouth and pinched her nose, cutting off her air supply, according to the report.

Chastain is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 13, at the Moore Justice Center in Viera.

In the new season filmed before the arrest, Chastain will show off a “new girlfriend.” In one episode, she remarks “love is in the air, and it’s spreading among the crew.” Chastain also shared pics of her new love interest on social media, earlier this year.

Below Deck is scheduled to premiere at 9 p.m. ET Sept. 6.
