‘Little Women: LA’ RECAP: Twins Arrive & Briana’s Baby Shower Drama

We join this week’s Little Women: LA at the zoo. A real zoo, mind you. Not a party that turns into zoo like they usually have. Autumn needs volunteer hours in order to graduate, so Christy and Todd and G-ma and G-pa go check it out. Christy takes advantage of the camera time to plead her pity-party-case about reaching out to Briana’s family because it was the right thing to do. Christy says it’s all Matt’s fault and when he flashes his winkie to another woman again, Christy will be there to rub it in, create drama, and push the delete button for Briana.

Next up, Jasmine and Briana go shopping at a candy store where Jasmine fills her in on the baby she is having for herself and the baby shower she is throwing for Briana. Briana is excited about both. Jasmine asks if it’s okay that Terra and Tonya attend the shower, even though they weren’t invited to wedding, because now they’re like, “it’s all about the baby.” Briana says okay, but Christy is a “hell no” on the invite list, even though she was invited to the wedding.

Tonya has invited Terra and Elena over her place for a girl’s night. Since no one can drink except Tonya, it’s bound to be a snooze-fest. Terra says she’s worried Elena isn’t taking her pre-eclampsia seriously for someone who is already in a double high risk pregnancy. They call Elena because she’s late, and when she doesn’t answer, they become even more worried because death is a possible side effect. Way to jump to conclusions, Terra. Preston returns their call and tells the girls Elena is in the hospital. Uh-oh!

It takes forever, but Preston finally gets to the most important part – Elena had the babies! They are six weeks early and in neo-natal, but mom and babies are doing well. Right now only immediate family can visit, but they Facetime Elena and she looks great. The babies’ names are Xavier and Cairo. One of the babies is on oxygen and could be required to stay in the hospital an additional two to four weeks. As for the dwarfism gene, they haven’t conducted the blood tests yet to determine this.

Christy and Jasmine are meeting for lunch so Jasmine can tell her she’s not allowed to come to the baby shower. This is so Little Women: NY. Christy denies feeding Briana’s family information about her health, but had previously copped to telling them about the transgender woman Matt was mixed up with, otherwise Christy would have probably denied that too. Jasmine agrees that Matt is a douchebag, but this is what she must do to keep Briana in her life. Christy says it is what it is and she’s not a hypocrite like everyone else. Check please.

Briana is grocery shopping with her friend Lisa, the only person Matt allowed to visit Briana in the hospital. Half-way through shopping, they sit down so Briana can rest. Actually, this outing was probably a bad idea since Briana is high-risk, should be on bed-rest, and must use a walker, but what do I know. Briana raves about Matt who “has been the best partner and nurse” a girl can have. So as long as Matt doesn’t have a cell phone or internet connection, I’m sure he’ll be the stand-up guy Briana deserved all along. Lisa tells Briana she is skeptical about allowing Tonya and Terra to come to the baby shower. Seriously? Everything that’s going on in Briana’s life and she’s concerned about Tonya and Terra? Sigh. Lisa warns Briana she may have something tacky to say to these women she’s never met before in her entire life.

Over at the arcade, Terra and Tonya are having date night with their men. The ladies are shocked to learn they were invited to Briana’s baby shower. The men are invited too. They decide to go even though they all are disgusted by Matt. Speaking of disgusted, Kerwin is upset that Tonya hasn’t picked up her remaining inventory from Jaa. She had one job to do prior to his arrival and that was cutting things off from Jaa, and Tonya didn’t do it. Terra and Joe tip-toe away from the ensuing argument. Makes you wonder why Tonya is delaying cutting that last tie to Jaa.

It’s baby shower day! Terra and Tonya arrive and talk about Christy’s absence, and Joe doesn’t miss the chance to slam Christy. Unfortunately Matt is also invited, but Tonya plans to pretend he’s invincible invisible. When the happy couple arrive, Terra breaks the news to Briana that Elena had her twin boys and they are all still in the hospital. Briana feels bad for dropping the ball on Elena because of her drama. And she should. Elena and Preston continuously reached out to Briana and Matt, no matter how disgusted they were by Matt.

Drinking game alert. Unfortunately it’s apple juice through a baby bottle for the party game. Tonya wins for being able to suck the most. Don’t you know Kerwin is excited for later. Lisa walks up ready to start shit with Tonya and Terra. She asks them how they feel about Briana and Matt now. Tonya says she’s here to support Briana and the baby. Lisa explains that she was really scared and upset for Briana when she was visiting her at the hospital and couldn’t believe her friends weren’t supporting her. Heifer, who do you think you are? They weren’t allowed to visit, per scumbag, Matt. Terra isn’t having it and walks off. She goes over to Briana to tell her she wants the best for her, despite Matt. Briana says she doesn’t expect the girls to forgive Matt, but she wants to continue to try since he’s her baby-daddy. Terra tears up at the thought of losing Briana as a friend.

Bring out the giant blue ball balloons. There are two and Matt and Briana will pop them to reveal if the baby will be average or little. It’s very confusing but confetti comes out of Briana’s blue ball so that means she’s having a little. Tonya thinks this a blessing because her theory is an average would take advantage of Briana just like Matt does. Terra, not only doesn’t agree with this, but is also offended by it. Tonya tries to explain that she ain’t talking about Terra, because she is strong, Briana is weak, but Terra is all emotional today.

And finally, we check in with Elena who has been released from the hospital, however, her babies have not. In the meantime, they have decided to stay in a hotel five minutes away so they can be close. They watch home videos of the babies to pass the time. We learn that Xavier was born weighing 4.10 lbs. and Cairo was 4.3 lbs. The boys cannot leave the hospital until they can breathe on their own and maintain their own body heat. Nothing is mentioned about the babies’ bloodwork. Elena cries over not being able to bring the twins home and feels helpless. Preston hold her and assures Elena they will be coming home soon.
