On the Real Housewives of Orange County, new girl, Kelly Dodd, has inserted herself into last year’s drama and is firmly on Team Vicki. Even though the girls have tried to tell her what happened, Kelly stands firm in Vicki’s corner.

Kelly gives her take on the haps in this episode, starting with Vicki Gunvalson and her daughter, Briana’s, drive from OK to OC.

“I can barely take being in the car for six hours from the OC to San Francisco or Phoenix. Beyond that I get carsick and cranky. So, I don’t know how Vicki and Briana survived the road trip from hell. I think they persevered because it was important to have Briana back home in OC, where Vicki can help with the boys and get Briana reconnected with her health care providers.”

Watching Briana struggle through this episode was a little heartbreaking. She needed her mom, but as usual, Vicki went off to work, leaving her daughter ill. Meghan also struggled…to give herself shots. Kelly thought it was sweet.

Meghan’s home video for Jimmy was cute and endearing. I am proud of her for overcoming her fears and giving herself the first IVF shot at home. I wasn’t brave enough to do that myself. Thank goodness Michael was there to give me every shot.”

Kelly then met up with Heather, Shannon, and Tamra for dinner. Meghan backed out at the last minute.

“…when I found out Meghan wasn’t feeling well enough to be there, my anxiety doubled. Yikes! But, to my surprise, it turned out I was worried about nothing. It was actually a fun evening, despite the fact that Heather and I were both feeling under the weather. Thank goodness for tequila – the Mexican elixir. I guess Shannon has never heard of a hot totty!”

So, does the tequila actually help reduce the cold symptoms or just make you so blotto you don’t care anymore?

Now onto the beach party, where Kelly called herself out for being a bitchy that day.

“The party at our house consisted of two parts. The first part in the afternoon at the beach was super chill. It gave us a chance to enjoy a beautiful day with friends and play some beach games like volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole, frisbee, etc. It turns out that all of the ladies have very competitive natures.”

Cornhole? Oh, my mind goes to such naughty places. Anyway, Vicki arrived, wearing a fur vest, because that’s what you do when you go to the beach—wear fur. Can we retire this caveman fashion attire already?

“As usual, Vicki’s arrival elicited some snarky comments and more than a little tension. In fact, it didn’t take long for Tamra to corner Vicki and beat her with the “you lied” drum.”

Now, I’m not one to normally stick up for Tamra, but I thought she actually handled Vicki with some grace. She was very calm for once. And since they hadn’t spoken in months, I don’t blame Tamra for getting Vicki alone so they could talk about it.

So, what’s your take? Was Vicki’s apology real? Are you liking Kelly or is it too soon to tell?
