Controversial Real Housewives of New York star, Bethenny Frankel seems to be on a sympathy campaign after taking a beating in the press and social media.

The reality TV mogul opened up about two major developments in her life this week, on Wednesday’s, B Real with Bethenny, her weekly SiriusXM radio show. Bethenny described her recent attempt to make amends with her estranged mother and updates on her divorce drama.

“A lot happened this week,” said Frankel, admitting she’s been “crying like a baby.”

Jason Hoppy moved out of their Tribeca apartment this week. The ex-couple’s former marital home has been at the center of their ongoing divorce battle since the couple split in December 2012. Frankel confirmed that this week, “that apartment was vacated.”

“I mean, I never know what I’m allowed to say – I never like to make this stuff too public,” she continued, though she revealed that she doesn’t want to live there and plans on selling the apartment.

Recalling her time spent living between corporate apartments and hotels. “[I’ve cried about] when is it going to be over, when am I going to get that apartment back?”

“It was actually really unsettling. It was really bad,” she said. “I felt like I wanted to be home, I had nowhere to really go. It sounds strange, but it really was true, and I cried for years.”

“I just wanted so badly for that to be over and to close that part of the chapter,” she added. “The divorce isn’t over, but that part [is].”

“I walked in and it just washed over me. I sobbed for hours. It was like this release,” she said. “And you always think things are going to be one way. I thought it was going to be, like, the biggest party ever. I’d be rollerskating through there with my top off, my t*ts hanging out, so excited – and there’s nothing good about any of it. It was all just remembering moving in there. It was a hideous experience, and I just didn’t know how to even process the feeling.”

Then the Bravolebrity dived into what prompted her to reach out to her estranged mother, whom she hadn’t spoken to in 15 years.

“My daughter said, ‘Mommy, are your parents alive?’ ” Frankel said. “And I said, ‘My daddy’s not alive and my mommy is alive.’ And she said, ‘I want to meet your mommy.’ And I thought, ‘Oh God, I’ve got to reach out to her.'”

Bethenny describes the mother/daughter reunion as, “not a totally unpleasant.”

“I think that she and maybe my stepfather have been hurt because some of the truths of my childhood have been in some of my books as it pertains to how I got here successwise,” Frankel said. “So I said to her, ‘This is my truth and I’ve only told about 10 percent of my truth, and your life is your truth and what got you here and the mistakes that you made – you had me at 20, and I’m not angry, I’m just telling you that my daughter has asked for you, she’s 6 years old.'”

“It was actually not an excruciating conversation,” the reality star reflected. “I just feel like I’ve grown up a little in the way that I handled it … I didn’t want to light any fires, I’m not angry about anything, about any of my childhood. It wasn’t ideal, but everyone has their sh*t. ”

“I feel like I’m kind of cleaning up messes,” she said. “It’s just weird to be a grown-up. Like, for me to be the one to pay for everybody to get together and to be the one to instigate that … I just know that if my mother, God forbid, passes away one day and I don’t have this thing, this thing in this drawer dealt with, it’s going to be really bad.”
